5. Yeah...
it looks like "DIOST" on the bottom left of the image, but I'm not positive about the "D".

4. I played with the contrast of your picture to try and get a better
look. I't still doesn't look familiar to me. Sorry,hope you can find someone here who knows what it is.

7. This is a real puzzler. What kind of item did it come from?
Is there any sort of symbol - or part of a symbol - beneath the letters?

8. I was wondering the same thing. Also, the groove above the
lettering looks like a strange placement of a rim of some sort.

9. Have had some luck in the past using foil, paper and pencil, if it's an impress mark
Press foil smoothly over the mark, then, keeping the foil on the pottery, use paper and side of pencil to get a closer look at the impress as shown by the foil. Using the foil helps protect the mark, and helps to create a picture you an then turn many ways, hold over a light source, and hopefully, get a better read on it.
