Art deco table?
Don't know why, but this little table just really caught my eye.

The only similar thing I could find on ebay was this:

Anyone recognize the designer?

2. No, just alot of dust, lol
I just love the lines of this! The top part has a sliding tray that goes out to the side, and a loose inset piece of wood on the tray cover itself (looks like particle board with veneer) - can't tell about the rest of it, what type of wood, but it's very lightweight.

3. Form follows function
side cocktail table?

Artist portable table?

Carry game side table?

There has to be a purpose to all the elements of this piece: handle, stationary tray, slide out shelf, large open and narrow storage.

BTW: Check out this multi-links Deco site :hi:

4. Cool link, thanks!
My first impression was that it was a phone table, with the slide out thing for a note pad.

6. I can't tell from two photographs, but it appears it could have been a home handyman project .......
...... from something like a Mechanix Illustrated pattern or some such.

I say this based on the joinery being so elementary and obvious, the crude design, and the ability to make it with a very few power tools or as an exercise in skillful hand tool work.

For me, the giveaway is the way the edges of the opening in the lower potion (main body) of the table are over-sanded in an effort to make them appear almost 'molded'. The next biggest giveaway is the manner in which the sides of both the body and the upper tray are joined to their respective tops. Both the nails and the end grain are too obvious to be even a cheap factory made piece. lastly, the small piece that holds the tray above the main body seems very crudely finished. The end grain again is far too obvious.

Again, I am only going by what I see in the pictures, but that's my take on it.

7. Could be
It is definitely lightweight and not the work of a master craftsman, that's for sure. Some aspects seem mass produced, to me. I can take more detailed photos of what I mean, when I get a chance.

I just think it's cute! :D

9. I knew it was just a matter of time

I have a new theorem, a corollary to the one that says that all roads lead to Rome: all things end up on ebay
