MI: Pure Detroit Says its Transit T is Moving at a Steady Clip

Sept. 26--Detroit's dreams for regional transit are encapsulated in a new T-shirt made by the folks at Pure Detroit, showcasing a map of the city's proposed Woodward Light Rail project from downtown to 8 Mile.

Pure Detroit, the funky shops founded in 1998 that sell clothing and other gear with unabashed Detroit pride, debuted the shirt with blue and green lines and white dots.

The shirt points out the 19 stops on the proposed 9.3-mile, light-rail line along Woodward between the Rosa Parks Transit Center and the State Fairgrounds.

City and regional leaders hope the Woodward Light Rail will be the first among many rail transit lines along major corridors -- including 8 Mile, Gratiot and Michigan. ..........(more)
