Looks like we're buying another bike tomorrow
Maybe, we'll see. We looked at a 2005 XLL (Sportster, Low) and my wife likes it. Looks like her old Yamaha will be on the market real soon. The guy is asking way too much for it but he's not getting any bites. I expect to make him a reasonable offer (above NADA) after the Credit Union gives me the go-ahead tomorrow. Oh, the thing only has 300 miles on it. Its been sitting in a garage, has never even been washed and its not dirty.

1. Credit Union called and said go get it ...
Now to see if I can work out a reasonable price with the guy. If I can life will be good, its supposed to be sunny tomorrow and wednesday. Fortunately we have an outpost of the State's DMV in a nearby town so I could do the title transfer and tag switch very easily - this may sound counterintuitive but West Virginia's DMV offices are an absolute marvel of efficiency and speed. I have gone in, with a check book and a title that needed to be transfered and walked out 15 minutes later with all paperwork done and a new tag and registration in hand in less than 15 minutes. On top of that they are just the nicest people you would ever want to deal with.

Anyway my wife is phyched! I knew it last night when we were driving home from our grandson's 1st birthday party, out of the dark she simply said "You know that Sportster? Its the one". Enough said. I know what she was feeling. When you've found 'the one' well, its just that.

Anyway I think we are 2/3 of the way there. Hope to be able to post a picture tomorrow.

2. fantastic!!
300 miles, sounds like a great find! It never ceases to amaze me how many people buy these things and then never really ride them. I bought my current ride in September of 05 and have put 16k miles on it since then.

Good luck!

3. Got it!
Got it this afternoon, I rode it home, forgot to give my wife the key to the car, drove it back to town, then drove it home again. It had 297 miles on it. No kidding, a 2005 with less than 300 miles on the thing.

It is just plain SWEEEEEEEEET!
