Thank God for George W. Bush
Thank God for George W. Bush
by Jaime O'Neill | May 28 2007 - 9:56am

The bumper sticker reads: "Bush: Thank God!" It adorns the back end of an enormous SUV. Bush and God conflated in a single three-word sentiment.

Though some might see that bumper sticker as blasphemous, it echoes the words that Mayor Rudy Guiliani spoke to his Police Chief Bernard Kerik amid the ash and the dust of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. "Thank God George Bush is president," Rudy said, as he was busy rising to the occasion on that horrible day.

~snip~

Thank you, God, for the strong leadership of George W. Bush, and for the gasoline to drive 10 m.p.g. SUVs. Thank you, God, for an uninterrupted flow of oil, and for the strength of our leader who carries out your desire to see that we have as much gas as we desire.

Thank you, God, for first making George W. Bush the governor of Texas where he stood steadfast in support of capital punishment, carrying out God's vengeance even on people with the mental capacity of children.

Thank you, God, and thank you, Jesus, for sparing the president and the vice president from service in Viet Nam where those irreplaceable lives might have been lost, depriving us of their leadership now, in this our hour of need.

Thank you, God, for keeping the Bush children and the Cheney children far from the fighting so that the president's resolve is not shaken, and he can continue to be patient as he awaits that glorious day when his policies bear fruit in Iraq.

4. The efforts of bush will give us a Democratic president for the next 12 years
Edited on Mon May-28-07 09:24 AM by Eagle_Eye
Bush has mortally wounded the republican party.
After the 2008 election and when our next Democrat President takes office, we will witness the demise of the republican party as we know it.
Thank you bush, you have handed America to the progressives, and you are too stupid to know it.
Ha Ha!

9. Despite Democratic efforts to prevent that.
I think the current shortfall of the Democrats stems from their comfort in their role of holding others accountable. Of course the GOP is pointing their pudgy fingers in every direction but their own, and the Democrats are tentatively and awkwardly putting the responsibility square back on their shoulders. But that doesn't mean they're ready or willing to take on that responsibility themselves.

12. When we get the Executive Branch back, things will improve in short order
One of the biggest long term improvements will be the next Supreme Court appointment.
A Democrat President will restore balance to the Supreme Court and offset the horrid appointments of George Bush.

6. And, thank GWB for God
Without GWB and his fundie supporters, we low life forms called "democrats" would not know exactly who God is and what He thinks about abortion, Iraq, Islam, oil, minimum wage, immigration, or many other topics.

Thank George!

7. Maybe having Bush as a president is a blessing after all.
The next person cannot be any worse. In future elections the Democrats can always point back to Bush as a reminder of a total fuck up. If the Democrats select a good VP they should be in power for 16 years.

13. Ever wonder why people who believe the 10 commandments
Should be posted in Government buildings are the first to take God's name in vain? I've also wondered if Faux News doesn't have a corner on that "false witness" thing as well.
