Anyone else unnerved at "Clinton press conference" Friday.
I don't want to start trouble and yes it happened on Friday but after watching it this weekend and hearing various angles on the event I really am more un-eased with this.

Too me it makes President Obama look even MORE weak than the compromises with the Republican party. Not only that the fact that the current President would excuse himself to what was really a semi-important news conference to go to a holiday party.

He left a former president to in a sense plead his case for him. And despite the assurances from a former president that he would make the same compromise as Obama did was not a very strong case to me.

3. That's probably why they did the presser; to take the focus away from Bernie.

4. It was creepy to say the least.
I am trying to stay positive on Obama but his line about keeping the first lady waiting did nothing for me. We have hungry, homeless people who have been kept waiting a long time. That comment was not in good taste.

5. Yea, and it really made Obama look bad because
Edited on Mon Dec-13-10 12:14 PM by quinnox
Bill Clinton stood up there and answered questions like only he can, and to be honest Obama paled in comparison big time.

Obama can give a good speech, but in press conferences he is well, to put it nicely, average to mediocre and doesn't impress.

It made me wish Bill Clinton was still president.

14. Like the marionette strings weren't good enough.

Clinton had to turn Obama into a damn DUMMY,
then did away with ANY pretense at all that
the DLC wasn't calling the shots and needed to
control the spin.

Fucking ridiculous!

11. Well, I'm "emboldened" by it, but I agree it's a sign of weakness, of some lack.
Of a desire to bolster an unpopular law, the big guns were not called in because there was no problem.

Obama needs someone to rally the DLC-leaning congress critters. There is no one who fills that bill better than a two term DLC President.

An hour alone at the White House to hold forth in front of the White House press is better than 3 hookers.

21. He should keep doing it
That way the rest of the country will see what an empty suit he is, and that he really has no desire in being president. I've been saying it for months that Obama has no plans on running again.

31. No not at all, I expected them to pull out the Big Dawg.
A lot of people don't understand just how deep in shit we are and have been for the last 10 years. Obama had to play his hidden ace and Bill Clinton just happens to be the Ace of Spades. He will always be remembered as a modern statesmen (what Babs can only DREAM her hell spawn children will become) even as twisted as that really is by traditional standards. He left his elder statesmen to finish the interview. What more do you want? Jimmy Carter?

All this talk about Obama looking weak, hell he looks strong to Wall Street and Corporate America. They have all the power so he is actually very strong but seen as weak by some. He is living large. He should just let Bill talk to the Repukes and work on a Federal Works Program what will actually find jobs for the unemployed.
