Why those votes last night: Rove seen leaving Capitol Building "Something big..."

Rove, Fielding pay mysterious visit to Capitol

Senior White House aide Karl Rove and White House Council Fred Fielding were just spotted leaving a meeting room just off the Senate floor in the Capitol. But neither gave a reason for their trip to the Hill.

Minutes later, Iraq War “Czar” Lt. Gen Douglas Lute was also spotted leaving the Capitol.

When asked what brought him down Pennsylvania Avenue, Rove remained mum, simply smiling and greeting the staffers who quickly surrounded him.

“Something big must be happening” a startled Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) said as he watched Rove walk out the building."

You becha. 80 senators don't blackmail themselves!

4. What does the bu$h regime threaten these people with?
Does he use the nuclear threat? They cave so easily when the Rove comes calling it has to be something big, it has to be something over all of them.

8. It is easy. He knows everyone's Achilles heel. And he just pushes on it.
Or he seduces them with bribes of power or money.

11. I think the public appearance of Rove/Fielding on Capitol Hill was intended...
As I posted in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x968391

Intended to create a public event which they can point to later saying we informed Congressional Leaders of the action we were going to take.

And that action has nothing to do with the US Attorney scandal or the White House turning over documents and allowing White House officials to testify before Congress. Otherwise, Arlen Specter would have been included in the briefing.

I suspect it was planned and executed in lead up to 'something big' -- maybe an attack on Iran is coming since diplomatic pressure might work and take away the basis for Cheney instigating an attack on Iran.

14. Here's a thought. One evening last week,
right before the Senate adjourned, Senator John Warner stood up and said that he was asking that the new war Czar, Lute, be exempted from ever having to come up to the Congress to testify about anything. He said something like there are so many Committees that the man would get nothing done except testifying. No one else made any comments, except me, of course, yelling at the TV.

Maybe Rove, Fielding, and Lute were up there to twist some Senators arms, like Arlen Specter.

Of course, I have no link. I just heard Senator Warner on the floor of the Senate.
