I talked to a Fed today. She said she'd give up her raises to extend unemployment benefits
and is not angry at not getting raises, but that giving them away couldn't be used to help people in trying circumstances.

the utter waste of an opportunity.

the wasted sacrifice for almost negligible gain.

i get what she is saying.

1. federal employees,
sure do get a bad rap. When I was one, there were lots of people who got there early and left late to get the job done - without charging for overtime. There were some goof-offs too.
When I worked private, there seemed to be more goof-offs and scamming going on. Just anecdotal, but it burns me to see government workers treated badly.

My sister's office (state) had to get a full-time armed state patrol guard because people were treating them so badly and making threats. Threats were coming from the anti-tax, commitatus crowd.
