Just tore a bagger a new one
No I didn't. But I wanted to ask you a question. Why do you think threads like this make it to the top of greatest page? I think it's because we have so little to call progressive victories, that even an exchange in line at the grocery store becomes important. We may struggle mightily to fight the good fight, but we live in a conservative republican environment, the one they designed.

In a way, it saddens me to see these threads because it is a reminder of what we never achieve. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's lack of commitment, it's that the power on the other side is just too powerful. We're knife wielders going to battle against AK-47's.

I'm not above getting satisfaction by watching conservative cry. Just imagine if HCR had become Universal Health Care.

1. They are not to powerful.
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 11:20 AM by RandomThoughts
The truth is they have no power except what people give them.

They get power when people think they are powerful, then give up and join them.

They have no real power accept what you give them. It is how you choose to live and what you choose to respect and respond to.

And a post about them being powerful, negates what is your real power, the fact that you get to choose, and saying they are too powerful is just an easy way to rationalize joining them.

Personal achievements, I have never been patted down at an airport, I have never been through an airport screening radiation device, I was not mean on one day, because someone told me to be mean, I still believe in concepts of justice and compassion with mercy.

I find joy in so many things, as some are tried to be blocked, they appear in different ways, I have had a group of chipmunks run up to a table at a local park I been at, a group of humming birds play in the trees when sitting and thinking, been able to watch an eagle fish, and seen the wind wash across the plains and hill tops.

No Achievements? Are you joking? All those things, and being able to find joy in them is worth more then thousands of days of what they could offer for a price. It is not much, but it is something.

You let them define winning so they can say you have nothing.

2. I'd rather die than join them
but I get what you're saying.

3. I found you don't have to die, and sometimes can actually find what real living is.
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 11:57 AM by RandomThoughts
Then again, a beer around people and some travel wouldn't be so bad either :D

I figure if you can find a way of moderation within the system, many do good things and can push back against the wrongs in the system in many ways, and help grow the better parts of systems.

Posting here, uses many system items, so not saying you have to be outside the system, just don't let it make you give what is yours and should not be asked for. Who you are, what you believe, what you feel is best, and all those other things that make up what a person really is.

I'm in a pretty good mood lately, and hope you can find whatever you need, thanks for your post.

I sort of thought of your posting phrase this way.
It might be that you would rather live then joining the worst of those parts mentioned, since that is what you see as a death of what you think is better in you. So it can be with a better thought.

5. Actually, he wasn't suggesting that you join them.
He was talking about those who respond to their power by joining them & thereby increase their power.
I misread that at first too.

4. The fact that they smash us down so hard, is proof, that we will win.
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 12:37 PM by WingDinger
They have dissallowed many subjects as moonbat. The energy used to dissuade us from our own power, is ramping up. They feel that if they dont stop us now, with gerrymandering, and massive corporate campaign spending only for them, we will crush them, and we will.

When we said make love not war, we were on to something. And now, demographics will win that war. I may not be around to enjoy it, but others will. My duty is to fight and not be afraid. These battles are what we will comfort ourselves with, as we die.

6. If you confront them one on one....
...there is a chance they will see the flaws in their way of thinking. The problem is when they are enmasse, mob mentality will block any form of individual thinking. The frenzy is what keeps them going, and none of them want to be the one in the midde of the mob to stand up and say "Hey, wait a minute, lets think about that". They would be branded a liberal traitor and probably end up with a few cuts and bruises in the process. Thanks.

7. Key words to note...
"Progressive victories"

"struggle mightily to fight the good fight"

"the power on the other side is too powerful"

"We're knife wielders going to battle against AK-47's"

You know what makes me go "hmmm...."?

When people use terms like these as they confront little old ladies or old men in restaurants or grocery stores.

Then they come here to brag about it.

Like Neanderthals who bag a squirrel, bring it back to the cave, and tell stories around the fire about how brave they were. Meanwhile, the cave lions and dire wolves are decimating the population.

10. And why is it ALWAYS a senior citizen they confront?
Where's the bravery in that? Hey, look at me - I cussed out Granny/Grampa! Aren't I cool?

Just once, I'd like to see one of them cuss out a huge truck driver, construction worker, or someone else who's not an antique human.

11. Yep...I agree...although I might even be OK....
with them cussing out a senior citizen who actually had some power....

like....oh...

their BOSS.

I would bet the whole issue wouldn't be all that important if it meant getting one's ass fired.

"Principles" aren't really principles if one doesn't have to actually sacrifice anything to have them.

8. My favorite aspect of those type of posts,
is how they always crush the tea-bagger with quips so witty there is no comeback.

In every thread the dumb-ass knuckle-dragger was left speechless by the displayed wit.

Not that it isn't possible, but I do think there is a lot of George Costanza type "I should have said xxx"!!! Fantasy going on....

12. The vast majority of those posts are fiction, and it's obvious.
Real life is boring and contains few details.
