I think the article is overblown, but maybe the President does need a
kick in the pants to finally wake up.

2. I'm unclear on what part of this editorial you believe is incorrect.
At its heart, it is completely truthful: Life, as Americans
are used to living it, is over. It wasn't Obama's fault
(much), but he *IS* going to get a huge part of the
blame for it (given the way media and politics work in
this country).

3. Life as Americans are used to it will always change
...it has been doing so since the country was founded and will continue until it dissolves. The challenge is to how we change with it. I disagree that Obama is to blame for any of it. Obviously, you do, so tell me what you think he has done to hurt "life as we know it".

4. The difference is: Up to recently, circumstances were on the incline.

5. Yes, but it's regressing....

No Obama is not to blame for it. It's been a slow decline over the past 12 or so years. But it shows no signs of getting better. Too large a chunk of our leaders (meaning the R's) and too large a chunk of our citizens are intentionally anti-intellectual and having an anti-curious approach to life and to governing is bringing us backwards. Yes, many things are cyclical and that's ineviatble but we're declining in too many ways for it to not be a cause for concern.

8. Very little of the problem is Obama's fault but he hasn't handled it
like a typical American politician in the era of the 24 hr news cycle, that is blaming the opposition party for the current situation at every opportunity, loudly, pointedly and publicly, so that it begins to sink in to even the densest among us that it wasn't he who caused the problem.

Instead all we hear is stories of republicans trashing him constantly, to the point where the dumbasses buy into the BS that it's ALL his fault.

He needs to go on the offensive and start pointing fingers. Sad but true.
