Want to get results?? How about not buying anything for a week?
How simple is this?? How easy to send a message to our senators and their corporation masters?? Don't buy anything you don't absolutely need for a week. Get the word out to the media. Get the word out on Facebook and My Space. If 10 million people go on a "buying" strike, then the corporations will see that WE have the power.

Why can't we do this? Why can't we tell everyone we know who voted Democratic to do this to show the Republicans that we can take this economy down, too. Not just the rich can.

Let's do it.

1. Nah that will not do it
We've tried in the past...

A national strike, on the other hand...which we've tried but never came close to even being felt due to very low participation.

3. a national strike is vastly, vastly overdue -- and needed
but do Americans have the fortitude/grit for such a thing?

5. The last one was in 1950
The last one to freeze a whole sector was 1973 , the Postal Srike.

There is a reason for that.

4. Because you can not get enough people to make a difference and...
to work together.

It is the same reason we can't get a national strike. The last one we had in the U.S. was in 1952. Americans have been too individualized, in my opinion, to act together. In our culture, we revere the hero not the team that brought the victory.
