1. GREAT! Convince people to protest on the busiest flying day of the year. Fuck it,

I don't need to make it to grandma's house in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

I love a good protest as well as the next person, but to tie up the works on that day is going too far to make that particular point. Kinda defeats the purpose of planning to go home for Thanksgiving in the first place.

This protest can be done on any given day and succeed in making the point.

On top of it, most of the travelers that day do not travel but once or twice a year and they will be stuck in the middle of it all.

If enough do it, the TSA will let you do the metal detector and then just let you by. They do not have enough space to handle more than one or two objectors at a time, even at the large airports

2. I fly into AC on Spirit Air from West Palm on the 23rd. This has become

somewhat of a concern to me and I'm looking forward to using an old statement from somewhere long ago. "Put one friggin hand on me and I will sue you! Worked then so I'm hoping my luck holds out....

3. I've never had a problem with the TSA.

And I've flown well over 15 flights this year. Through several airports - LAX, SNA, PHX, DEN, BOS, DTW, ATL, LGA, and MDW. The only thing I really hate is that liquid restriction for carry-on baggage - that one still irks me since it's been completely discredited 100s of times over.

9. I haven't either. This year, we'll be going through a backskatter

machine. They have on at one of the security checkpoints at our airport, but not at the others. So, we'll use that checkpoint. It shouldn't be crowded on Christmas day. But, we never get slowed up by the screenings anyhow. We always breeze right through. Experience counts.

12. The worst ones I've ever dealt with were LGA and LAX terminal 6.

Slowest damn lines I've ever been in. I almost missed a flight because the security line for terminal 6 was out the door and around the building because an Airtran flight to Milwaukee got delayed because of the weather.

5. Somehow I doubt that the huge majority of people flying the

day before Thanksgiving are going to even know about this. That day is amateur traveler's day at every airport I've ever visited. It's the single day when the least experienced travelers show up to fly to gramma's house. Security is screwed up badly enough by the number of people who never fly and who don't even understand the procedures.

Anyone who is an experienced flyer, who might know about this idea, doesn't travel the day before Thanksgiving. It's the worst day of the year to fly somewhere. The next worst is the day before Christmas. My wife and I fly every Christmas, and we leave on Christmas day, arriving just in time for Christmas dinner. Then, we spend the next few days with my family.

Such a plan is simply not going to happen on November 24. Anyone who knows about it isn't going to fly, and those who don't know about it are going to screw up security screening badly, as they always do on that date.

This was a bad idea.

11. It doesn't matter. It's not going to happen anyhow. Most of the

people who read that call for "action" won't be flying anyhow. Most of them never fly. Those who fly regularly have figured out the TSA screenings and have no problems.
