Hat tip to JustABozoOnThisBus, who just posted this in the vets forum.

Veteran’s Day is soon approaching and there are several companies who want to thank our veterans by providing them with discounts or a free meal. To those companies offering veterans a free meal or discount, we give a collective thanks.

1. Great idea. Hats off to these companies. I sent it to my Marine
nephew and he'll spread it around. Thanks for posting.

4. I just picked up my free folding cane at Sam's.
It's really cool, great for traveling. Go to the pharmacy and ask for it. Hardly any employees there initially knew about the offer but I spread the word and by the time I left the greeters and some others had picked up on it. One employee at the door said she had seen a lot of them go out of there today.

Good on Sam's Club and Hugo!

2. I read that Burger King is giving away free coffee
no purchase necessary, every Friday mornings for the whole month of November. Not necessary to be a veteran.

Denny's is also giving away free Grand Slam.

Also some state parks may be free for veterans on that day.

3. Fee Free Day at National Parks
To honor America’s service men and women, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today announced that areas managed by the department would not charge entrance fees on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Over 100 national Parks will be participating in this event.

This is in the full article linked in the OP. I don't know about state parks.

I think Burger King is giving away free coffee just on Fridays. Thanks for the heads-up!
