I know other states are just as bad, but we suck.

We lost a Democratic Governor and gained the idiot Sam Brownback (does not believe in evolution), and we lost a great Dem House rep in Dennis Moore, and on top of that we have Fred Phelps in this damn state.

Not a surprise we are connected to Oklahoma. What an embarrassment this state is!

1. My state of Minnesota has that wide eyes lunatic Michelle Bachmann
So Kansas certainly isn't the only problem.

Plus that absolute nutjob Tom "Waiters make $100,00 a year" Emmer might yet steal the Governors office. Yuck.

Al Franken has more power in the Senate than Bachturd does in the House.

13. I empathize with you all... having gone thru several election cycles
in Georgia before returning back to Colorado. Upon return, I faced the influx of SOCAL Republicans, the takeover of Colorado Springs by the fundies, and the uniting of big money interests, fundamentalist xianity (insanity) and libertarians to devastate Colorado politics for a decade. This election cycle we held tough, defeating all the regressive anti-tax and abortion related BS measures and kept Dems in the Senate and Governor's office. Lucky, indeed.

The last time an unpredictable eye doctor got in charge was Bashar al-Assad in Syria when he took over from his father.

29. We already were sporting it for the McConnell/Bunning combo
Paul sucks Donkey Kong ass but he's not much worse than we had.

He is more coherent so that makes him a bigger national problem as well as a potential lightening rod should they stupidly let him off the back bench but as a constituent I believe the odds of Randroid responding to at least one of my calls and letters will be astronomically higher than the zero the fuckers I have now.

It sucks because Conway is about our best statewide guy and though I disagree with him on important issues, I do think he's a decent guy and is real when you look him the eye but trust me Bunning was fucking gawdawful.

McConnell has long been our reasonable and moderate Senator. I am not exaggerating a tiny bit. The pan is way in the rearview mirror, maybe deeper in the fire, maybe not. It's hard to measure the different areas of the surface of a supernova.

You really gotta live in like Oklahoma, Utah, or Arizona to feel our pain. Its not just Republicans but the deeply and insanely Republican. Somebody like Rand Paul is supposed to feel like a jumping off point but a few terms of Dumbing made it a smooth transition, maybe an upgrade.

Yes, Jim Bunning was that bad.

14. I want to give a shout out to the greatest county in Kansas
That would be the county that I affectionately call "the Dotte".

In your face Douglas!!

Vote totals for Wyandotte in select races

Johnston 18,475 to 11,771
Moore 19,075 to 11,214
Holland 19,752 to 11,706
Six 20,978 to 9,236
McKinney 20,667 to 10,072
Biggs 18,752 to 11,706

Douglas to its everlasting shame actually voted for Jenkins.??? :wtf: and almost voted for Moran double :wtf:

vote totals for Douglas

Johnston 15,043 to 14,074
Moore 9,697 to 5,654
Hudspeth 6,730 to 7,203 wtf???
congress total 16,427 to 12,857
Holland 18,465 to 11,399
Six 21,113 to 8,776 !!! admittedly they outperformed the Dotte in this race
McKinney 18,260 to 11,632
Biggs 17,646 to 11,943

17. Michigan is no bargain either, Kansas
Every single candidate I voted for on Tuesday lost, and now we have Tim Wahlberg to deal with (AGAIN!) and newcomer teabagger Justin Amash who believes that the secret to a clean environment is deregulating businesses.

I feel like I just woke up in the Bizarro World.

After enduring all the commercials from "Democrats" touting what great conservatives they were, I went in and held my nose and voted a straight "D" ticket. And what did all that running to the right get them? Tossed out on their ass.

And to look at my ballot and see state questions that could have been written by the KKK....aarrrggghhh!!

Since 1968, have moved away several times but always come back, bought a house her in '95 and paid it off in '03. Some of the best and worst people I know live here. It was really sad to see how far downhill the home state of Woody Guthrie and Will Rogers has gone :(

serious run for your money - we have Brewer, Arpaio, Thomas (Arpaio clone), Schweikert (my lovely representative), Quayle, McCain, Kyl, SB 1070, and people who openly carry at protests at Obama visits. And that's just the stuff I remember off the top of my head. Arizona owes the world an abject and groveling apology.

On a national level we still have Ed Pastor and Gabrielle Giffords. Unfortunately on a state level we're f**ked! 100% Republican - 2/3 majority in one house, majority in the other house, and literally (I think) every other position Republican. Arizonans are determined to sink this state to 50th on all metrics. Sigh.

On edit - and Grijalva only one by about 4000 votes - 48.8 % to 45.6 %. He pulled ahead at the end but it was looking really dicey for a while. And Giffords might still be too close to say for sure and may require a recount.

The main reason we lost Ted Kennedy's seat is because Martha Coakley didn't put on any sort of campaign. But I still insist he was an anomaly. He'll be up for re-election in 2012, I believe, so we can shoot for that to take back our state from those people.

Seriously, look on the bright side.

Without Kansas, there'd be no "We're not in Kansas anymore."

Without Kansas there'd be no "Carry On, You Wayward Son" or "All we are is Dust in the Wind."

Without Kansas, would there be an Arkansas?

Hmmm... Is there a bright side?
