Outsourcing outrage
Globalization seems like a nice idea -- if it didn't make people insane.

Although there are no such studies that I know of, a graph might show that Americans have been consuming increasing quantities of antidepressants in direct correlation to the growth of corporate call centers overseas.

<snip>

In India, a television sitcom -- The Call Center -- was created around calling centers and their rude Western customers. Note to world: We weren't always so rude. We weren't always on the verge. Corporate America has made us this way.

3. Just yell louder.
I have always found during my travels if I am having trouble communicating with someone from another country, I turn up the volume on my voice and they understand my English just fine.

2. I don't try to be rude to them, but they do annoy me.

I know it's no fault of theirs, but if I need any kind of service beyond checking my balance, they are usually pretty much useless. What the hell do they know about my situation when they are in Hyderabad?

Oh yeah, and now, a lot of them are trying to affect American accents and use pseudonyms.

"Hi, I'm Kristin!" As a matter of principle, that is kind of offensive, too.
