"God pisses down your neck every day, but only drowns you once."
Read that somewhere.

Losing the House is brutal, and I am feeling deeply for everyone in KY, FL and VA, among other places.

But we will recover.

We have to.

There is no alternative.

Stout hearts, friends. God pissed down our necks tonight, but we have not drowned.

3. Fuck That. I'm tired of just "surviving" I'm 56 and I see nothing but trouble ahead.
I'm tired of surviving, when do I get to prosper?
Been working for almost 40 freaking years and now this.
One step forward and three steps back.

I'm sick of this shit.

14. Supply Side IS kind of like a religious cult.
Amazing that people will continually fall for policies that historically and blatantly do not help them in the slightest. Not only that, but the followers NEVER blame the cult leader or the Cult Creed . . . they blame THEMSELVES for when failure happens. It's flawless.

7. This doesn't feel anywhere as bad as 2000 and 2004 felt
I recall us all feeling nearly suicidal in 2004. None of us spoke for days...even here at DU.

8. Yeah, even with the losses (Grayson, Feingold)...
This is nothing like 2004. That was a gut-punch/groin kick combo. This is just a facepalm and a headache.

12. Quite frankly, the only thing that really matters is Global Warming
Thus, we are in big trouble.

Economic collapse, ruinous wars, disintegration of the working- and middle-class all pale in comparison.

Then again, our President didn't have the will to address this even when things were less sticky.

16. Same thing here. But hey, the NY and CA governorships
have gone "back to the future"

1) Andrew Cuomo won the NY governorship his father Mario lost in 1994 to a small-town hack named George Pataki (aka the "coat-holder" for Giuliani and Bloomberg during 9/11)

2) Jerry Brown was CA governor before Reagan was POTUS. Reagan's dead and turning into dust.
Guess who's still here and is now the new (old) governor of CA?

Heh heh. Ain't Life Grand?
