They say the "base" is going to be pissed
But are they? We are the base, here on DU, if anyone is. Are we pissed about this capitulation? I mean pissed enough to do anything?

Just an honest question. I'm not throwing stones here. I really would like to know if anyone is going to do anything.

1. I, for one, am furious.

I consider the Democratic leadership to be betraying the voters who put them in power.

3. What can I do? Quit?
I think democracy at this point has to be defended from NGO's. The ballot isn't working.

6. You don't want to know.
Seriously, if you don't know, just hold on to that feeling for as long as you can. If you really want to know, I'll tell you.

9. You ain't seen/heard nothin' yet. Wait til tomorrow; and yes, I'm
mad as hell. They did NOT have to do this. They should have thrown the vetoed bill back in dimson's face and let him capitulate. :mad:

11. Check out this site...
http://workingforuspac.org/content/home/

<snip>
There are two core beliefs driving Working For Us PAC. First, lawmakers should represent the interests of the constituent they represent and second, lawmakers, especially Democrats, should fight for the middle class.
<end>

It seems as though they focus primarily on economic issues, but their scope could be widened very easily.

14. LIVID. Disgusted. Furious. Outraged. Disappointed. INDEPENDENT. Can you say "They lost my $$$"
and they lost my VOTE?

No more definitely voting Dem for me. They have to EARN my vote if they want it, and frankly it is obvious that they just don't WANT it enough.
