Media Matters' Brock Challenges Palin To Release Tapes
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201010310001

The following is the transcript of Sarah Palin's accusations against CBS affiliate reporters in Alaska made this morning on Fox New Sunday:

PALIN: As for Joe Miller, the things that this fellow has had to put up with up against the GOP machine and the Democrats and the liberal media in Alaska, it's no wonder that the numbers are tightening in that race. Just last night it was revealed that the rally that I had for Joe Miller on Thursday, it was revealed and we have the tape that proves it, that the CBS reporters, the affiliate in Alaska conspired to make up stories about Joe Miller.

We have the tape, Chris, and I can't wait until it busts out all over the nation to show what it is, that we -- kind of what I put up with for two years now with the media -- but what Joe Miller is faced with in dealing with somebody who feels -- Lisa Murkowski -- so entitled to that seat that she and some of her people, including some complicit in the media will do anything. They will stop at nothing to allow Lisa Murkowski to get back, elected.

(snip)
Statement by David Brock, CEO of Media Matters:

"Sarah Palin has made serious accusations of journalistic malfeasance. Either Palin accurately described the tapes, or she did not. America's news consumers need to know the truth about these serious accusations. The public in Alaska needs to know the truth so they are fully and correctly informed before they cast their ballots Tuesday. Palin has a responsibility to release the full, unedited tapes publicly and to all media."

2. I have a tape of Sarah Palin sounding like a screeching weasel.
But, so does everyone else.

This is just more Breitbart bullshit made up out of whole cloth.

3. The best thing about this whole kerfuffle
Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 01:49 PM by Blue_In_AK
is that it is a feud between Miller and Murkowski and Scott's name doesn't even come up. Anything that keeps those two camps at each other's throats works to our benefit, as they get down and dirty and Scott stays above the fray.

You keep talking, Sarah.

8. I'm wondering - if Sarah's pick loses, does that tank her political capital as much
as I think it would? I mean, if you can't even be a King-maker back on your own turf, aren't you fast on the way to irrelevancy? I've seen Palin do too many stupid things to count, but backing Miller so strongly as she has been doing in the face of proof of his malfeasance, is striking a lot of people as lunacy. Maybe she is making a fatal error in judgment finally.

I am thinking Scott McAdams has a good chance of winning this thing, but maybe I am being to optimistic. Still, I am hoping.

10. Could hurt her
But you have to remember those who "love" her will never accept anything bad about her, and will stand behind her no matter what! I think this whole thing was her hate for Murkowski! Palin is the kind of person that never forgets, or forgives. She want Murkowski out and thought Miller would be able to get the job done for her. If he loses, yes I think it makes her look bad in Alaska, and if more of her "clowns" lose in other states it could do some damage for her "king maker" status, but this women will keep on doing her thing, and right now it looks like here thing is starting a fight with Rove and the mainstream republicans, a fight that will do more damage to the party, and her, than she thinks. Of course as long as she can make a few more million, I don't thinks she cares. For her it's all about the money.

12. Then I will continue to hope that this damages her greatly.
One thing I've noticed is that she frequently gets ticked off at people, and once she does, it is like a mental illness with her re her need for revenge against them for perceived or actual slights or wrongs.

I agree that her base seems to have no objections to anything she does, even the stuff that makes no sense. I am hoping they are a minority so small that they could never influence an election. Of course, if she goes third party with her delusional base as support, then that would of course have an effect. How much, it is hard to tell.

I used to think she was only about the money; now I sometimes wonder if all the adulation by her fans has gone to her head to the point where she really believes she can run for anything she wants, whether qualified or not.

9. I can't understand why the media will play anything that Breitbart has touched.
Seriously, how many times has he been busted for maliciously editing tapes and fabricating stories?

The media should know that unless Breitbart releases the whole tape that he is hiding something.

11. Sweet mother of beer. I read that quote from her and I can't figure out if I'm supposed to feel
outraged, frightened, threatened, defensive or content. What is she saying? FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS RIGHT AND GOOD, WHAT DO THOSE STRINGS OF WORDS COMING OUT OF HER MOUTH MEAN?
