They'll die. Lots of them will die.
Even more of them will be maimed physically and psychologically. WAY more. All of them will be asked to kill citizens of the country they are occupying illegally.

But at least they'll be funded.

4. Thank you for stating the obvious.
Now if only the rest of DU would catch on to the fact
that the Dem congress is complicit and aware of that fact.
They too, want to assure enough resources for their
children's future. And you DO notice how their loved
ones are not the one's in harm's way?
To hell with the rest of us.

Make no mistake, they don't give a shit about us-
anymore than they give a shit about the people in Darfur
or Iraq. They know all about the plans to decimate Iran
and kill even more innocent civilians- it's all fine by them.
They, like the rest of the global elite ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE,
are only interested in securing as much as they can for their OWN.

Is this fact not obvious to all by now?

If the Dems would have just stood up and backed up what they said....Americans would respect them....now they have capitulated.....

And back to your point many more lives will be lost...

Beyond dissapointing...

3. "War is good for business."
by Michel Chossudovsky

http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO109D.html

(snip)

And behind the Bush Administration is the power of the "big five" defense contractors (Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon et al), increasingly in partnership with the oil-energy giants, which are behind many of the regional wars and insurgencies along strategic oil pipelines.

The Big Five defense contractors have been shifting staff and resources from "civilian" into "military" production lines. Lockheed Martin (LMT) --America's largest defense contractor-- for instance, has implemented major cuts in its satellite division due to "flat demand" in the commercial satellite market. A company spokesman had reassured Wall Street that Lockheed "was moving in the right direction" by shifting financial resources out of its troubled commercial (that is, civilian) undertakings into the lucrative production of advanced weapon systems including the F-22 Raptor high tech fighter jet to be assembled at Lockheed Martin Marietta's plant in Georgia. Each of the F22 Raptor fighters will have a unit cost of $85 million, 3000 direct jobs will be created at a modest cost of $20 million a job.

(snip)

All this 4 days after 9/11.

Except how do you get rid of the corporations, short of having the Chinese cash in our debt?

20. Oh but you are funded
Edited on Tue May-22-07 09:37 PM by truedelphi
Every time I used to pay my taxes I always thought that when push came to shove we would see the efforts there.

32 Trillion spent on the nation's defenses but the attack on 9/11 was a cakewalk for the perps.

A gazillion spent using the sweat of the hard working women and men - and the damn levies were neglected.

22. if you don't like it, why don't you
just get a job, make a few hundred million, run for congress, get elected by lying to the public and just take care of your own.

this is America, dammit. Anyone can succeed . . .

oh, yeah, uh, :sarcasm:
