With his Senate campaign stalled in third place and election season running down, U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek leaned on the Democrats' big dog today in hopes of getting a boost.
For the second day in a row, Meek campaigned with former President Bill Clinton on a college campus, telling supporters at the University of Central Florida that only he – not Republican Marco Rubio or independent Charlie Crist – can defend their interests.
"We definitely have a big task in front of us," Meek told a crowd of about 1,500. But "you have to multiply and double your efforts" or the "radical right" will take "control of the fourth-largest state in the nation."
"I'm not saying the radical right are bad people," the South Florida congressman said. "I'm just saying they're moving in the wrong direction."
