Memo LEAKED Beck, Koch bros, Chamber coordinated with Banks & Insurers on 2010 election strate
Source: Daily Kos

While the Koch brothers — each worth over $21.5 billion — have certainly underwritten much of the right, their hidden coordination with other big business money has gone largely unnoticed. ThinkProgress has obtained a memo outlining the details of the last Koch gathering held in June of this year. The memo, along with an attendee list of about 210 people, shows the titans of industry — from health insurance companies, oil executives, Wall Street investors, and real estate tycoons — working together with conservative journalists and Republican operatives to plan the 2010 election, as well as ongoing conservative efforts through 2012.

... snip ...

The memo is like a playbook for destroying the Obama Presidency with corporate money and timed propaganda. It reminds me of when thebanksters of the first great depression tried to throw FDR out in a military coup, only instead of turning the army against FDR this generation of banksters has decided to bribe the system into doing their total bidding, including a top down messaging co-ordination between corrupt fake journalists, lobbying groups and uber-wealthy individuals. There will be no teabaggers at these events, only the very rich and the very right wing are invited. Just like the real Republican party.

10. Try getting any media to take this seriously
Their boards of directors are the same ones who participated in the scheme..

The "fix" is in.. It was IN from the day Obama was elected.

The ONLY thing that could have "saved" his presidency would have been to act BOLDLY & loudly ...immediately after the election.

Expanding medicare for all, eliminating the cap on SS (to pay for it)

Nationalizing the banks for a 2 yr period & selling off pieces of them to create a smaller more manageable banking system

Demanding legislation that provided for public financing of elections

and any number of other "fixes" we have needed for decades

There was a window of opportunity, where the republicans were disorganized, demoralized & flat-on-their-backs

That was the ONE opportunity he had, to act boldly and to set the tone. Once their heads cleared and their behind-the-scenes schemers caught their breaths, it was too late, because they started setting the terms of his presidency and it was too late to go back.

50. as if the republicans would have allowed any of that.
they were together enough right from the get to know that if Obama wanted it, they did not, and would bring the entire country to a halt if they had to, to keep him from enjoying a successful presidency. the country's much the worse for it, but i blame the republicans still, 99% at least. President Obama's not a miracle worker but he's better than any republican and a lot of dems.

53. Yes unfortunately that window is now boarded shut.
I would add, demanding a single payer medical insurance system, or at the very least not excepting less than a public option to compete with private insurers.

Also do the same as his predecessor in regards to implementing new bills and policies on an almost daily basis. If Obama would have dropped his impotent "bipartisan" meme and also began prosecutions against the previous administration on a number of fronts available to him, on top of the things you mentioned, you'd have the right wing reeling, just as the left was under Bush, not knowing which topic to address even while a new policy was being unveiled at that very moment.

Of course it helps to have a whole news network at your disposal, and visa versa its not so great to have one working 24/7 against you.

That 2 month period was all that was available. By April the plans were firming up for their summer recess plans..(that stuff did not just happen)..The August recess madness of last year was the foot in the door...to see how much free airtime they could count on.

51. as i'm reading their little booklet there,
that's what i'm reminded of. a story from when i was a little (precocious) girl: i found a form in a magazine or the paper or whatever, when i was about 6 years old, filled it off, and sent it out - it was a membership to the john birch society! my mother, a life long republican, was aghast. she laughed about it for the rest of her life but i cannot forget the tone of her voice every time she uttered the words, "john birch society!" as she retold the story countless times (frankly i don't remember much beyond writing something in a form).
i mean my mother, who thought nixon was the greatest president who ever lived (her words), wouldn't touch the john birch society with a 10-foot pole. this was in the early 1960's. radical, fascistic, right wing greed monsters. and talk about elitist. jeez.

Healthcare, banks, Wall Street, military supplies, oil, anti-union, et al. Oh, and don't forget the SCOTUS.

They have their little, elite group and we have how many millions to yell, "No you can't!"

I wonder who the other names are that didn't make the list. We know there are more and they are big!

I hope MSNBC nightly news hits this one hard.

24. Posting on someone's thread constitutes a kick as it automatically pushes the thread
toward the top of the forum again instead of letting it drop, in this case the "General Discussion" forum.

If you really want to get fancy when you kick, you can use one of these smilies in your post.

but MS Word was acting flaky and wouldn't cooperate with me. I'm going to try again later, though. Sure, there are more than those 200+ people, but they are as good (or bad) as any to start with--and the Kochs are on the list. They deserve all the exposure we can give them.

I'd love to see a website dedicated to exposing those people, so that hopefully all of their names become household words. A deck of playing cards with a mug shot of each one of them wouldn't be a bad idea either.

38. BIG K&R!
This is the biggest, most important issue of our times -- something DUers have long suspected being exposed right before our eyes.

It's the most important because it affects every issue we little people care about: jobs and wages, health care, education, the environment and climate change, and on and on...

These fuckers want to control everything from the top down to improve their ability to grow their already obscene wealth to even more obscene levels. They already control the media (the message) and much of the government including the SCOTUS and much of congress.

This strikes at the very heart of our fragile democracy...like a stake being slowly driven in.

Meanwhile, they've created the faux "populist" teabagger movement to cover their incideous motives. As said so well up-thread, the teabaggers are their "useful idiots", fueled by their csrefully cultivated hatred of libruls and Democrats.
