Could somebody please tell me why Moveon has suddenly gone all doom and gloom!?

Got an email from them today saying that if the election were held today, Dems would lose, and lose badly. I expect this sort of self-defeatist attitude from rank and file DLC'ers, but come on!

to hell with worrying about a "self-defeatist" attitude. We need to keep working but we're still coming from behind.

It's just that pessimism bordering on despair, which was my first take on this, is not very motivating to me.
