A friend sent me a link to a fUx news story and its FUCKING SCARY!
It looks as though the state of Idaho likes letting teens carry guns out in the open public. :scared: :wtf: If this isn't fucked up I don't know what is!

Zach Doty, 18, carries a loaded Glock handgun on his hip. His 15-year-old brother, Steven, carries a .22-caliber rifle in a sling on his back.

Police have been called on several occasions to question the teens but have not found the teens to be in violation of the law.

In Idaho, residents 18 and older can openly carry a firearm in public. And those ages 13 to 17 who have parental permission can carry a rifle in public.

"Pete Husmann, a 20-year-old University of Idaho senior, heard the gunfire coming from the direction of the Latah County Courthouse late Saturday night. Instead of taking cover, the Coeur d’Alene native armed himself with a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and headed in the direction of the gunfight."

"Husmann is currently in serious condition at Gritmann (Hospital)".

Idaho rocks!!!

18. it pays to have some knoweldge of the situation before
charging in like some kind of Rambo caricature...:eyes:

Showing up at a gunfight suddenly makes you a target of both the 'wrong' person w/a gun, and the 'right'
person w/a gun, add a third aspect, the police, and all you do is draw fire from 3 sides...pretty damn stupid...:dunce:

Hope he survives his little "Charge of the Not "Bright" Brigade...:)

4. I used to own a bookstore in southern Oregon and
I had a regular customer who always had a 45 on his hip. (I don't know what kind because I know nothing about firearms.) He was a nice enough guy, but I was always careful not to piss him off! ;-)

5. Different stokes for different fokes...
I had a friend who went bow hunting with her dad when she was 7 and continues to this day. I lived in Vermont. My uncle kept his rifles in a gun case and they were polished and prideful... I never thought.. wow, let's get it out and play with it. Its a respect thing. You respect your weapons and use them for hunting.

May I add, I hated going to her house during season.. Deer meat isn't my favorite meat. But the worst was the bear... so greasy. My dad, on the other hand, wouldn't touch a weapon after leaving the military. So, I didn't have any guns or rifles in my house.

12. We're not talking hunting here ,we're talking teenagers packin' ;
Edited on Mon May-21-07 09:11 PM by jedr
Having raised a few teenagers myself , I know that I wouldn't want one trying to settle a disagreement with a glock on his/her hip. If you haven't noticed, let me be the first to tell you that adolescents don't usually make sound choices...... This is T.V. reality in the hands of of the naive....guess what kids , you don't get 3 or 4 life's built up to use in this game.

16. Ever since Qualye mis-spelled "potatoe", those spuds have
Edited on Tue May-22-07 08:46 AM by rasputin1952
been something to contend with. Used to be, they'd just lay there, gazing at the sun till their eyes burned out of their little sockets, waiting patiently to go to the fryer or the chopper, w/the best being taken into bags to do the dirty work...NOW, they are armed and dangerous! Spud Guns are all the rage for the formerly defensless little tubers. Farmers have disappeared in Idaho in droves, usually right after the little starch stars are pulled out of their little homes underground. Citizens are blaming the Idaho Legislature for allowing the younger spuds to be armed, but investigations have yet to turn up any of the bodies of the missing farmers. Speculation is that most of the farmers left their fields to go to Washington State, where they might feel a little safer, and have a better chance at voting for a Democrat.

Fortunately, Sweet Potatoes seem unaffected by the recent events, possibly because their flesh is not as desirable of that of the classic white potato, as well as their naturally sweet disposition.

:D

8. i actually think the laws are like that in more places than you think.
some years ago when i worked in a pizza place in northeast miami we had a customer who used to come in with a six shooter strapped to his hip like some old west gunslinger.
it was registered and not concealed so it was legal for him to have it.
we had a lot of cops who used to come in and the first time one would see him they would ask him a few questions, look at his registration and that was it.
i dont think the laws have changed except in permitting people to carry their guns concealed now.

15. There is a reason children are not allowed to drink alcohol until 21 years old.
They usually are noit the sharpest knives in the drawer..You wanting them to be packing guns says a lot about your sharpness as well.

19. Yep, I had an ex-boyfriend in Miami who owned a restaurant
at 79th St. and Biscayne Blvd. Since that is not the best part of town, he wore a 45 all the time. He had a gun permit.

10. Stupid. Just stupid.
My wife owns guns, but refuses to have bullets in the house. She says the only way somebody will harm themselves with her guns is if they drop them on their little toes. 20 years; no accidents. Guess it works.

24. Well, you can do that here in VA if you want to. You can't go into
schools, churches, bars, or govt bldgs with a pistol strapped to your hip, but as long as you have a permit, you can go anywhere like that. Oh, and you can't go into places that have posted a sign saying "no guns allowed" and you have to be over 18.
