Can someone tell me why MSNBC nightly news has the same subjects?
I could understand if there was a major breaking news item, but why do Tweety, Ed, Keith, Rachel and Lawrence cover the same subjects? It's one thing to mention each subject, but not to have three or four as their top items.

I'd like to see some variety, as well as to get rid of the "funny" stuff...with Keith, especially.

Tweety needs to shut up and let his guests speak. Why does he even invite anyone to his show? He missed Manners:101, for sure.

1. Good question - I'd like to watch the whole lineup (while multitasking)...
...but it's too much of the same so I pick and choose.

9. Do I?
I get it. Christine O'Donnell is crazy. She's also going to lose. Why should I care about her again?

10. Just watch the last 15 minutes of Countdown - THEN watch Rachel!
Keith usually runs his best stuff in the last 15 minutes, like: Worst People in the World!

4. That is the problem with 24/7 news, I'm sorry but reality is rather boring 95% of the time
with real news happening maybe 5% of the time so these shows are dealing with a real lack of news. Even back before 24/7 news came about and news programs were 1/2 hour for news sports and weather there were days that were rather boring with nothing going on that was news worthy. The problem is life is not as dangerous or as scary for there to be much news, so what news has become is a place to invent new ways to scare people and make them believe it is dangerous. But the clue about the news is because all of these shows are covering the same event tells you that is because there is no more in the news today except what everyones talking to death about.

5. It is basically Political news and not the normal "nightly news" like NBC or CBS or ABC
They pretty much give News while MSNBC does Politics....If you don't want politics then watch one of the Network News Shows..

6. I want politics. That's why I watch them, but I don't want the exact same subjects.
There are enough different news items out there that they could report on without same old/same old. Ed does a better job of putting a little variety in probably because he gets into labor and immigration more than the others.

7. Do NOT watch tweety
It's politics as show biz and tweety is far too star struck to be an intelligent commentator.

Ed is on too early for me to watch

O'Donnell is on too late and I'm still pissed at the way he treated a guest when he filled in on Countdown.

That leaves me with Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.

I usually watch all of Keith's show, because I've gotten so used to the format.

The problem is, I'm burned out on news by the time Rachel comes on and even though hers is the best show in the entire lineup, I zone out or fall asleep by the time it's half over.

Really I shouldn't watch any TV news. I don't need no stinking pundit to tell me what I think. I learn most of the things I need to know right here on DU and a few other sites.
