Alan Grayson: 'Rush Limbaugh Says I am Certifiably Insane'.
Edited on Mon Oct-18-10 02:02 PM by sabrina 1
Rep. Grayson sent an email today and all I could think of is, I wish every Democrat and sane Independent and even those in the Republican Party who are not from the far right fringes, would have dealt with the Republican Noise Machine the way he does long ago.

Not only is he right, but he's funny. Her mocks them, he makes them look like the fools they are as he laughs at their infantile rantings.

For so long Democrats were afraid to even mention Limbaugh in case it would start him off on a campaign against them. They had a point, when Tom Daschle went to the Senate floor to inform the country that his family had received bomb threats as a result of Limbaugh's daily smears and hate-filled attacks against him, necessitating protection for him and his family, Limbaugh and his insane following increased their attacks, mocking Daschle with images of a baby wearing a pink dress sucking on a pacifier eg.

Daschle found himself alone in his attempt to draw attention to the potential danger of the hate speech emanating from rightwing talk radio. I cannot recall much support for him as most Democrats cowered in fear of having Limbaugh go after THEM.

Did they not realize that when you back down to bullies, they will become even more intense in their attacks? Daschle lost the election that year but I still believe that if Dems had fought back, if they had dealt with Limbaugh and the rest of the chickenhawk, cowardly and hate-filled, lyiing Rightwing Radio talkshow morons the way Grayson does, it might not have become such a lucrative business for the dumbest people in the country, such as half-Governor and quitter Sarah Palin, or totally insane Glenn Beck eg.

Rep. Grayson's email which I received today:

Rep. Alan Grayson to me

Rush Limbaugh:

Mind Your Own Business

Contribute $25 or more now to the Rush Limbaugh MYOB Fund!

Dear XXXXXX,

Is there any well-known right-winger in America who has not yet taken to the airwaves during this past month to savage me? Let’s see – Sarah Palin. Mike Huckabee. Newt Gingrich. Glenn Beck. Sean Hannity. And – I almost forgot to mention – Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh says that I am “certifiably insane.”

Please contribute to our “Rush Limbaugh, Mind Your Own Business” Fund.

Now, Rush Limbaugh saying that I am certifiably insane is like George Clooney saying that I’m good-looking. It’s like Shaquille O’Neal saying that I’m big-boned. It’s like Michael Jackson saying that I can sing and dance. It’s like Bill Gates saying that I’m rich.

Rush, tell me this: which one of us was hooked on drugs for years and years? Not me.

Which one of us was arrested for criminal fraud? Not me.

Which one of us made fun of Michael J. Fox because Fox has Parkinson’s disease? Not me.

Which one of us called Chelsea Clinton “the White House dog”? Not me.

Let’s show Rush Limbaugh that every time he opens his mouth, that’s another $20, or $40, or $50 for whomever it is that he attacks.

The reason why Limbo got so angry with me is that a few weeks ago, on national TV, I alluded to the Presidential Daily Briefing for August 6, 2001, delivered to President George W. Bush five weeks before the 9/11 attacks. The briefing with the headline “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US.” The briefing that said that Bin Laden “would follow the example of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef and ‘bring the fighting to America.’” The briefing that said that “Bin Ladin told followers he wanted to retaliate in Washington.” The briefing that said that “Al-Qa’ida members – including some who are US citizens – have resided in or traveled to the US for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure that could aid attacks.” The briefing that said that the FBI was reporting “patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.” The briefing that President George W. Bush did absolutely nothing about, between August 6, 2001 and September 11, 2001.

You know, the Presidential Daily Briefing that we’re not supposed to talk about. Because if you do, then on national radio, Rush Limbaugh calls you “certifiably insane.” And a “lunatic on the left.” And “destructive and destroying.”

“Destructive and destroying.” Now, that’s bad.

Please contribute to our campaign today, the “Rush Limbaugh MYOB Fund”. And Rush, remember what Abraham Lincoln said: It’s “better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt.” As Rush Limbaugh proves every day.

Truth,

Alan Grayson

P.S. Can someone go toe-to-toe with Rush Limbaugh, and survive? We’ll find out on Nov. 2. But remember, someone once wrote a book called “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot.” A certain Senator from Minnesota.

Lol, yes, as Grayson points out. At least one Democratic Senator not only survived going toe-to-toe with Limbaugh BEFOFRE he was a Senator, but is now one of the best Democratic Senators we have.

And if there was a contest between Limbaugh and Grayson, I know who I would be betting on to win. I've seen Grayson take on Republicans on the floor of the House and can only say, if I were a Republican up to no good, he is one Congressman I would want to avoid.

You can help him win by donating here https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/myobfund?refcode=email10_18

Or, if you can't afford to donate, you can phone bank for him by signing up HERE

This is one Congressman we need to keep in Congress fighting for the people. I wish we could clone him.

28. um...Kettle?
Rush (or as Stephanie Miller calls him "The drug addled gas bag") calling Grayson or anyone 'certifiably insane is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black. We should take up a collection to get the pig to the vet so he can have his vocal chords snipped.

I'm voting for Barack Obama in 2012. Grayson is fine for 2016, though.

19. It would be a very, very bad sign is either of them were to lose
in November, we need MORE of them. I am going to volunteer to phone bank for Feingold and Grayson next week. I think Grayson said he has had a huge response as far as phone-banking is concerned.

Whatever it takes.

I would love a Grayson/Feingold or Grayson/Franken ticket for president in 2016.

I'm about maxed on on donations to both of them. Don't be shy about asking people to help them out.

23. I hope not! Maybe using Rush Limbaugh to fund his campaign
which I think is hilarious, will get him enough money to get some more ads on the air. I think he suffered a setback after the Webster ad, not that it was all that bad, but Democrats can't do things like that or the MSM goes after them. But he was way ahead before that, and the public has short memories so I'm hoping he can pull it off.

Feingold also needs help. It's insane to think that anyone like Webster eg, could still win any election in this country with his background.

If you can't afford to donate, they both need people to phonebank for them, if you have any time or know someone else who does :-)

8. I remember that! Lol!
That's who Grayson was referring to in the email.

I think that was the first time anyone even dared to take on Limbaugh. What is incredible is that for years, Limbaugh slammed Clinton for not having served in the military, and no one pointed out that he himself had managed to get out of serving because of an anal cyst.

When I discovered that little fact, I posted it on a rightwing dominated board and they went wild, demanding 'proof', which I had, but wanted to see them go wild before providing it. Mean I know, but they threatened me with all kinds of consequences which was predictable, and then I gave them a link. There was silence after that as they waited for their instructions on how to proceed. But from then on every time they attacked Clinton for not having served, I produced that link.

Coming from Rush, that HAS to be a compliment. The whole fucking Republican party is insane. Whatever they're smoking, I DO NOT want any.

you can see it in his face.

That is one of my favorite photos of Grayson. He has five children and I agree, I'm sure he did decide to run for office because of them.

24. Lol, and I love the way Grayson takes it as an endorsement
rather than trying to defend himself. Making fun of these morons is what they deserve. But the media gives them respect, fearful that if they don't, they will become targets of their vitriol. They should hire Grayson to learn how to deal with morons like Limbaugh.

26. Exactly, he uses their own tactics against them.
For so long Democrats looked like deer in headlights when they were attacked by morons like Limbaugh. I remember wishing, dreaming that someone would stand up to them.

Grayson is a dream come true in that sense. I really hope he wins, but even if he doesn't he should run again, and then run for the presidency in 2016.

The bumper sticker crop is getting slimmer by year. But the one I saw recently at a nearby mall had me chuckle especially if you sing it to Prince's "Let's get Crazy."

Let's get crazy
Let's go nuts

32. Let's see, who is insane here?
Grayson: willing to take on, face to face, injustice, coruption and call it as he sees it.

Limbaugh: Hides in a studio w/a 20 second delay to avoid any form of "problem" that might arise.

Grayson: Capable of thinking on his feet, witty, intelligent.

Limbaugh: Sits on his fat ass in a studio on his own property, makes $400 million in a contract for lying like a pig, and is remarkably stupid.

Congressman Grayson...if you're "insane", I'm right there with you!

:patriot:
