Please help me clarify John Kasich's political history.
How did he get out of office in the first place. Did Ohio vote him out of a job or did he not run in order to suck the fat off of Wall Street? Thanks in advance for the info.

3. He left Congress to work for Wall Street

Kasich did not seek reelection for the House for the 2000 election, but instead formed an exploratory committee to run for President.<13>

In 2001, Kasich took a job as managing director of the Columbus investment banking division of Lehman Brothers.<22> He remained at the company until its collapse in September 2008. During 2008, Lehman Brothers paid Kasich $587,175 in salary, bonuses, and other benefits.<23>

He's trying to go from a corrupt failed bank to Gov of Ohio. Can you imagine how stupid you'd have to be to vote to put a bankster in charge of your state?

4. And After he talked Ohio officials into putting tons of money into Lehman?
That stunt cost Ohio Government workers millions from their pension funds.

6. Yep. That's probably how he got the job. Why else would they hire him?

11. He did that when he was working for Lehman Brothers
To this day he has refused to release much of the info on how much he was
paid by Lehman Brothers. I bet bringing in $80 million* got him a nice little
bonus.

* I think that is the figure.

Kasich forms exploratory committee to run for president

February 15, 1999
Web posted at: 6:30 p.m. EST (2330 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, February 15) -- Rep. John Kasich (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Budget Committee, Monday kicked off his run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2000.

Announcing his campaign theme of giving America back to the American people, Kasich told supporters at the Columbus, Ohio, airport he would fight to "to restore power to ourselves."

"We're going to take every bit of energy that we have over the period of the next couple of years," the nine-term congressman said. "We're going to fight every day to believe in ourselves, to connect ourselves to one another, to make the efforts to restore power to ourselves -- the power to educate our children, plan for our retirement, take care of our health care and to have more money in our pockets."

Kasich, who describes himself as a "mailman's kid," not a "millionaire's son," immediately hit the campaign trail, heading for stops in New Hampshire and Iowa. Iowa has the first presidential caucuses and New Hampshire the first presidential primary.
