So I Will Be Voting Early In The Next Few Days
I plan to vote a straight Democratic ticket, as I have done since I cast my first vote for Bob Graham in his 1978 Senate primary race against Robert Shevin. I will probably vote for Kendrick Meek but I will be doing it out of party allegation as I did when I voted for other certain losers like Walter Mondale and Mike Dukakis at the national level. They were good public servants who ran lackluster campaigns. In Mondale's case it just wasn't a Democratic year. However IMHO, Bush Pere was definitely beatable in 1988.
I digress...

If Rubio and Crist were tied with Meek a distant third I would have cast my vote for Crist to stop the Latin Tea Bagger but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's hard to hate Charlie despite his GOP pedigree, He's a lifetime member of the NAACP who removed the prohibition on felons who served their time from voting; a prohibition which fell disproportionately on African Americans, and without which Bush would not have "won" Florida and the nation in 2000. Also, when there were lines that snaked around the block with people waiting for a drivers license, and I had days to renew my .license, it was Crist's office which set up an appointment for me.

If it's any consolation to Charlie this is one of the few times in my entire life I had to think about my vote;Republicans are easy to dislike. Charlie was an exception. You could always see the "live and let live" guy dying to get out.

The consolation is I will be casting an enthusiastic vote for Alex Sink. Rick Scott has the rancid smell of corruption.

1. For the exact same reasons, I'm doing the same...
voting my conscience for Meek after weeks of agonized thought. Voting for Alex is a no-brainer, IMO. The Meek-Crist-Rubio race, on the other hand, was a "whomever could beat Rubio" dilemma. <sigh>
