Serious question: Why is what happens on a morning talk show important to public debate?
It seems anytime something even remotely happens on "The View", people fucking explode. It's a fucking morning TV talk show, for crying out loud!! This latest thing to happen with Joy Behar is a perfect example. I mean yeah Bill O'Reilly is a dick, but it shouldn't affect the way we debate public discourse, right? Can someone help me out here?

1. Beats me. I am proud to say I have never seen The View in my life and
I've been retired ever since it came on so I could have done so.

Daytime TV is the pits.

2. Because of the fact that the Whoopie and Joy called O'Reilly out
on his racist shit.

Remember O'Reilly doesn't allow anyone to disagree with him on his show, if they do he cuts off their mike.

For the first time in a long time we saw Lefties with backbone stand up and say it was not all Muslims that attacked America. O'Reilly said it, the right has been saying it without any challanges to their hate baiting.

That's why it's important. It may be a silly tv show but every now and then something important happens.

3. But what about when people like that go on the Daily Show?

6. Do you mean O'Reilly?
If people like O'Reilly go on Stewarts show they are too stupid to know they are being played by John. They are being openly mocked.

If the MSM would do their jobs instead of trying to make news out of nothing we wouldn't be talking about the View. It is what it is...

5. Because they have a large audience?
There are a lot of people that are influenced by talk shows like, "The View."

If people like Joy Behar can influence viewers, I am all for it!

Shoot, I don't even know what this current hoopla is all about!

7. Walking off the set is like a surrender.
I understand their desire to regain composure and probably get some fresh air, but I think it's never a good idea to walk off the set.

Stay and defend your position.

As to the relevance, I really can't say...I don't understand why the opinions of one journalist, one reality-show "star", and three comedians amount to much of anything.
