Specter sees Gonzales quitting
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The top Republican on the Senate committee investigating Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales said Sunday that he believes Gonzales could resign before a no-confidence vote sought this week by Senate Democrats.

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he believed a "sizable number" of GOP lawmakers would join Democrats.

"I have a sense that before the vote is taken, that Atty. Gen. Gonzales may step down," Specter said.

Gonzales also failed to draw a statement of support Sunday from Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. Asked whether Gonzales effectively can lead the Justice Department, McConnell said "that's for the president to decide."

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said Sunday that Gonzales would not be affected by a potential vote of no confidence.

5. Yes
Specter: Delusional or Grandstanding (again)?

Because if there's one thing folks can count on from Arlen Specter, it's that he'll very publicly say one thing to cultivate his "moderate" credentials, but when the time comes to back up his rhetoric with a vote, there's always some really, really good reason why he toed the company line (again).

6. Voinovich in Ohio is the same way ...
"This tax cut is far too big."

ten seconds later ...

"Senator Voinovich, what is your vote - Aye approves Bush's tax cut, Nay opposes."

Voinovich: "Aye! Aye! Aye! For the love of God, Aye!"
