Progressive Alternative To AAA Roadside Service....Any Feedback?
My warranty is expiring soon and my free roadside service along with it so I'm looking to sign up for another one.

I'm happy to see there is an alternative to AAA. Wondering if anybody has tried it.

I've gotten in the habbit since the last election of doing a little research before spending money. Although it's distressing to see that so many things I've bought are BushCo supporting, it's nice to see so many viable alternatives out there for the goods and services we buy!

4. Well, I'm a new member!
If it sucks I think I'll just get the roadside option on my insurance cuz, I'm sooooo not giving any money to AAA! They're just another GOP & polluters lobbyist group.

2. I'd have to wait and see...

...as I've had AAA for myself for over 20 years (even through the Clinton admin.) and currently have it for all my family members. I've heard bad things about other auto clubs having you wait up to four hours before a tow truck arrives while I've called one at 2:00 am in the middle of nowhere through AAA and someone was there within 30 minutes.

Sorry, I love to do the right thing myself but life safety comes first. There's other less critical things out there to boycott and a lot of the new "green" and "socially responsible" companies are extremely hyped up to be more than what they claim.

3. I'll let you know how it works out
I actually found the SAAB roadside service that came as part of the warranty -- that was way more efficient than the AAA I've had in the past. Basically you want them to come fast. This is one of those services you buy never wanting to use it, but if it sucks I'll definitely be honest about it!

I really have a hard time writing any kind of check to BushCo supporting companies although sometimes it is unavoidable, I have to say that all the switches I've made (to Costco and Costco auto insurance for example) have benefitted me with good service and value, I haven't been burned yet! Hopefully this will be no exception cuz I just signed up!

5. The one you refereed to was recommended by the Sierra Club....

...and I've been a member of theirs too for a while. Like I said, I've got to wait and see.
Supposedly they offer, and are the only ones that do, roadside assistance to bicyclists. But claiming to be this and do that won't steer me, actions and recommendations from real people will.

9. True it's possible hype but I also feel like
you can't know for sure without trying, it's worth taking a chance, at least to me, on people who are trying to provide an alternative to the BushCo Biz Trap.

After the election I started looking up the stuff I buy and the interest I pay and all sorts of things I was doing that was benefitting BushCo -- Home Depot et al, it really made me sick and I haven't regretted on choice I've made so far to change that. I really do appreciate having these new choices.

6. I Have Geico Roadside Assistance
which is cheaper and generally better. But you have to get the car insurance to qualify.

7. My friend has had Better World for over a year now.
She loves it - you think of how little you really use or need AAA - you usually do not wish for road side assistance or an accident so hopefully rarely need it. Better world is just as good as AAA although it is even better because you think of all the time when you are not using AAA because no crisis' what is your money being used to lobby - nothing that positive or progressive. Whereas Better World you know your money is going for progressive change.

She lives in SC and drives frequently in NC and though Better World is based out of OR it suits her fine.

8. So What is Wrong with AAA?
I must have missed the reason for boycotting AAA. Please fill me in.

I let my AAA membership lapse when I got a new car with road service,
but I didn't think they were all that pernicious.
