3. Post your letter!
Dear Senator Lincoln,

I am a currently serving paratrooper in the United States army. I write you solely representing myself and my personal views.

I am a happily married, straight Soldier who has served two tours in Iraq and will continue to serve. I feel the discriminating practice of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' to be deplorable and it needs to be repealed immediately.

As Americans we are supposed to be a beacon of freedom and equality, and already two dozen countries are way ahead of us.

I humbly ask you to reconsider your position on the repeal of DADT.

Respectfully,

(name redacted)

4. I called. They said they were being pragmatic and did it to get votes.
Oh well. Gotta respect that.

5. So it is the 60 vote rule that held back the vote.
Edited on Tue Sep-21-10 07:20 PM by RandomThoughts
Since a majority of the Senate voted Yea.

And people can say you have to lie, but they can not take how you choose to feel.

What kind of person tells a person to be silent, and to lie about how they feel and who they love?

Can someone review history and find when and what asks people to not speak out, and what groups tell people to be silent, or to lie.

The rule to allow a vote and not make them filibuster is a rule to protect people from having to be seen for what they do. That rule lets some groups block legislation without being seen for doing it, it is the same idea as being silent, or keeping things hidden.

Politically speaking it is a post election issue.

8. I sent messages to both of the Rethuglican bigots from my state and I addressed them as bigots
Edited on Tue Sep-21-10 07:01 PM by LonePirate
If they want to support bigotry, then I cam going to call them out on it. Here's what I sent:

I am a resident and registered voter in XXX and I want to express my extreme displeasure with Senator XXX for his bigotry by voting against the Defense Authorization Bill. He should be ashamed of his hatred towards his fellow Americans and his constituents. He is a disgrace to his office and to the fine men and women serving in our armed forces today. If he had an ounce of their courage, he would have voted Yes to proceed on the bill.

11. My letter to Pryor and Lincoln:
"Are you a Democrat or a Republican bigot? What possible reason do you have for voting against allowing the Defense Authorization Bill to get to the floor of the Senate? 80% of the general public and 96& of Democrats support this, yet you feel that blocking this bill is acceptable? You're not a Democrat and don't expect Democrats to support you."

13. Lincolns worthless fucking ass will be going home in November.
It's a shame a republican is going to get this seat, but then again there's basically been a republican in it anyway. I hope she isn't counting on the unions to "flush millions down the toilet" by supporting her, or the gay community, or progressives. Good bye Blanch and good fucking riddance. Cash that big check who ever owns your sorry ass gave you and have a nice life. And Blanche, if you ever run for office again just be honest and don't insult our intelligence. Just run as the republifuck you've always been.
