1. Looks like the top of a beer can.
But what else would you expect.

3. That's it...the party should've started giving away BEER!
They could call it "Demobrau" or something.

Although for those that help many people, best to give them a pass for bigger reasons.

19. Maybe this is where the genius who came up with this logo got the idea...
...after too much booze.

Great and appropriate picture.

4. I think they were trying for D for "Drive".
The whole D to go forward R for to go back into the ditch thing.

7. They needed to have a logo of a donkey shifting gears, then.
The other problem is that, in the American school grading system, "D", as we all know, means "below average". Even Republicans will have picked up on THAT one days ago.

Edited on Sun Sep-19-10 02:19 AM by MrModerate
Hard to quantify how much such things matter (they ain't selling corn flakes, after all), but that's one pure-dee shitful design.

12. It is not.
It is completely boring and unaffectionately ugly.

Don't pander just because it has money.

Tell it like it is. :+

11. It's hard to imagine
anyone being delighted with it. Other than the Republicans who will use it for target practice, that is.

18. This is the worst, stupidest logo they could make. Get rid of it, pronto.
It looks like a target. It isn't simple. It is simple-minded.

Democrats are already targets to the right wing.

A good logo should bring a positive image to the viewer. This presents nothing but a blank thought of "What is that supposed to mean?"

A logo that doesn't make an immediate positive impression is a total waste, and this logo definitely does NOT provide a good positive image to the viewer.

31. I did
Although they only have a submission box supposedly for questions.

Not a question, just a suggestion...shoot the graphic artist/media professional who designed the new logo.

I apologize sincerely if the so called artist/media professional was your son, daughter, nephew, niece or grandchild. Perhaps you could get him or her a Magna Doodle drawing board to distract them.

25. Leaves me cold.
The Circle-D is coldly corporate, much like Circle-C (copyright) or Circle-R(trademark). I'm told we are supposed to think of "Drive". Instead, I think of "Dumb". And the resemblance to a target has been noted numerous times. The baby blue of the D is less than inspriring.

I don't like the slogan, either. "Change that matters" is neutral and passe. It appeals neither to emotion nor reason. Things that "matter" are not necessarily good. My electrical bill "matters". It ain't good.

And it looks like a preference for "neither a nor b" on a multiple choice test.

much like what the party itself has become.

In that regard, it's perfect.

Next time, just roll the website redesign and logo out without any advance hype that might make people believe you have some substantive policy announcements right before an election.

37. We've lost two-thirds or more of the races we've fought against the 'pugs since Kaine took over.
That's worse than it would've been with anybody else we could have chosen.

Every candidate Kaine recruited has been a total disaster.

There's simply no defense for his appointment at all.

38. May as well be an H in a circle 'Hospital Ahead' - unfortunately, group-think begets ugly logos

perhaps they need to use this on internal notepads and post-it notes and go back to the design drawing board. general public reaction overall has given it the big thumbs down
