DNC chair unveils new website, logo for Democratic Party
by The GW Hatchet
This post was written by Hatchet staff writer Justin Kits.

Tim Kaine, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, unveiled a new logo and website for the Democratic Party Wednesday. Kaine used the event, which was booked as a “major announcement” for the party, to hail the accomplishments of President Barack Obama and other Democrats and to look past the November elections.

“The fight isn’t over,” Kaine said. “We have to keep fighting because we aren’t out of the woods yet. We have to keep fighting for progress, for our country and a brighter future.

Citing the need to engage citizens with the Democratic Party, Kaine unveiled the new website that connects voters with their local candidates easier. “So, without further ado, I’d like to unveil the new symbol of today’s Democratic Party: Democrats delivering the change that matters,” Kaine said, as volunteers wearing t-shirts with the new logo tossed t-shirts into the crowd.

The new logo and website is designed to be action orientated and allow voters to connect with their local candidates to donate and volunteer, Kaine said. “The new look demonstrates that we’re about the people,” Kaine said.

Words Fail.

Constructive criticism? Sure. Do something worthwhile about the economy... that would be my suggestion. Or failing that, make the new logo available on a wider range of t-shirt colors.

7. Well, no time before the election to *do* anything at this point, but I would
like to see a pubic restatement of our stance where we fall in line behind facts and logic... reality-based community stuff.

Propose the best possible course of action, whether it has 60 votes in the Senate or not. (It wouldn't.)

Almost any deficit spending of an additional trillion dollars would help (on something other than tax cuts for the rich, of course.)

My personal pick would be a federal refinancing of a trillion dollars of mortgages and consumer credit. We have created several trillion dollars but cannot get it into people's hands. So many people are still nailed to the ground with high interest rates while the government makes all the money in the world available for banks to lend at 0%.

But almost anything of comparable size would be worthwhile, including direct employment.
