Protesting the Important Issues of the Day.....
from the Albany Times-Union:

Hunger strike aims to put Paladino on Hannity

Mohandas Gandhi did it frequently to protest British imperialism. A group of imprisoned IRA members did it in 1981 to protest, well, British imperialism. And now local Tea Party activist Tom Cavanaugh is launching a hunger strike to draw attention to another issue of globe-spanning social injustice: Sean Hannity’s failure to host GOP gubernatorial hopeful Carl Paladino on his syndicated radio show.

The 58-year-old East Berne resident took up his position outside Hannity’s studio at 2 Penn Plaza in midtown Manhattan this morning. He’s got a chair, a Paladino sign and a poster that reads, “Sean Hannity Unfair to New York Republicans.” He’s committed to consuming nothing but water, orange juice and vitamins until “whatever it takes.” There are only two possible outcomes: Hannity’s concession to put Paladino on air, or the arrival of Monday night — when Cavanaugh will have to travel back home to vote in the primary.

1. Wow, how sad.
Going on a hunger strike for TV programming issues. What a waste.

2. Members of Veterans for Peace did hunger strikes, too
Of course, they were only protesting U.S. support of wars and death squads in Central America in the '80s. How remiss they were to overlook the more urgent issue of TV programming. :eyes:
