U.S. F-16s unleash "shock and awe" on South Jersey
Sorry if this has been posted. I looked and didn't see it.

These are some of the best comments I've ever seen on an article.

http://www.attytood.com/2007/05/breaking_news_us_f16s_u...

A massive wildfire that has already burned thousands of acres in the Pinelands and forced the evacuation of residents in two towns likely started this afternoon when an F-16 fighter jet dropped flares as part of a maneuver over a gunnery range, New Jersey National Guard officials said tonight.

(More at link and then the comments :)

Simple.

The military should withdraw from New Jersey. It never attacked America and doesn't want us there.

1. To be fair...Everything south of the AC Expressway needs a good burn
...for environmental rejuvenation.

Everything north of that same road just needs to be scraped off the face of the planet and a monument erected it its place.

4. A friend of my mother's
lost her house and cat. They were piling everyone on buses to evacuate them and no pets allowed. Not one of these people should have to put in a claim to their insurance company. Let's bring back our National Guard and have them rebuild.

6. No pets allowed?
No one learned anything after Katrina I see... I know there was a bill in Congress about that. Not sure of its status.

8. Had heard that someone, somewhere wanted to bring this up
about pets but it, obviously, got nowhere. My mother's friend lost everything but what she was wearing and what causes her the most distress is the loss of her pet. She's staying with my mother now until she can figure out what to do. A sixty-something year old woman having to start over! This is the same base that accidentally straffed an elementary school back in 2004 during exercises.

12. I remember that school strafing.
That is really sad about your mom's friend. Losing everything is 1 thing, but her pet too? Shame on them.

11. k&r. "If you're not forest your against us"
"We need to attack NJ there, so they dont attack us here. They hate us for our freedoms. They all worship the Jersey Devil. Plus most are Flyers fans. And no Timetables - they'll just wait for us to leave, then attack. We should build military bases there. at least bush should be able to find NJ on a map."
