Stay thirsty. my friends....
That should be the motto of the Democratic Party.

It seems once the election is done, counted and the people are sworn in, the democrats focus all their attention on running the show, you know governing.

To me, it seems, the republicans are always, always in campaign mode. Everything they do, touch, embrace, talk about, breath is focused on the prize; the attainment of power.

Believe me I am not calling for the Democrats to forget about governing like those yahoo's across the aisle.

On the contrary, I ask that they just stay thirsty enough for power to realize that it can be taken away like that.

It is all ephemeral. Take what you can when you can and keep your eye on the prize.

If you go down to defeat (a possibility not a forgone conclusion, the polls are up and down and all over the place, anything can still happen), can you honestly look yourself in the eye and say it was worth compromising, forgetting about all the transgressions of the past administration, going for incremental change when the country was starving for a the big one.

If you can't, then perhaps you weren't thirsty enough, my Friends...

1. On the note of the guy in that TV comercial, or that creates the thoughts of that commercial.
He should not exist, from my view of where that comment comes from.

4. oh I *am* thirsty, all right. Thirsty for a refreshing drink. Now if only Obama, Reid & Pelosi
would provide it, instead of the warm spittle of republican-lite backwash they've been handing out.
"Health care" reform - let's name it honestly "Insurance company handout"
Bailing out Wall Street and bailing on Main Street?

I am very disappointed thus far. At the vevry LEAST Obama should have gotten rid of DADT. I doubt integrating the military (black & white) was any more difficult at the time than this is now.

Still waiting for a refreshing draught of Democratic lager.

5. I think this is one of your best taglines ever...
The metaphor is very damn appropriate.

We thirst for the big incremental change, we voted for it, but did we get it?

I don't think so.

Recommended.

6. I find it surreal that after 8 years of Bush anyone would vote for a Republican

The Republicans should be fucking destroyed by their own actions. If they win in this election I will be more disappointed than I can express.

7. Yes, but the right turn Obama has taken after his campaign is also surreal.
I still can't believe what I've been seeing for the last year or so.

8. It is leaving a bad taste in my mouth....
But not as bad as what could be there if the troops don't pull it together soon...
