What has happened to the Left's power of the purse?
We boycotted the segregated buses in Montgomery.

We boycotted Coors for their support of homophobia.

And now, the Left boycotts gas, and we are scoffed at, even from within.

I think it's time to take a look at what we did in the past. I think we can succeed, we've done it before, we can do it again.

1. Difference in putting off 'til tomorrow what you might do today and a boycott like buses
Decrease consumption, don't put it off for a day, but don't buy it at all. Did those boycotting buses boycott them on Sunday? Did they boycott them entirely? Did you boycott Coors by not buying Coors on one Tuesday, or did you boycott it by not buying Coors for a long time?

2. History shows boycotts fail if they don't last a long time
One day is not a long time. If people stopped driving for five days or more, that will cause serious economic ramifications for oil wholesalers like Exxon-Mobil.

3. not sure the 'left' boycotted the buses, but black people surely did, and for more than a day
months, in fact. nothing remotely like the silly notion of not buying gas for a day.
