New poll calls (MO) Senate race a “dead heat”
(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) A poll published today by KY3 and MSU shows the U.S. Senate Race to fill Kit Bond’s seat to be a “dead-heat.”

The survey asked, “If the 2010 election for U.S. Senate from Missouri were held today, would you vote for Robin Carnahan, the Democrat, or Roy Blunt, the Republican?”

The results? 44.8% said they would vote Congressman Roy Blunt, 44.4% for Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, and 2.8% for some other candidate.

Linden Zakula, spokesman for Carnahan’s campaign, said in a statement, “Missourians are just starting to learn the truth about Congressman Blunt’s horrific 14-year Washington record including his starring role in the $700 billion Wall Street bailout – and clearly they don’t like what they see.”

“Congressman Blunt’s record of wasteful spending, corruption and sticking it to the middle class is the very worst of Washington and we will continue to hold him accountable for it,” he said.

1. Ras has the Democrats down across the board.
Of course, Ras does as Murdoch orders.

3. No, if past behavior (Ras) is any indicator
Carnahan is actually several percentage points ahead. This is very good news.

4. Oh hell, we know all about Blunt's record.
Better yet, we all know about his son's record, and that the apples doesn't fall far from the tree.

Carnahan might have picked up a few points by going on the record supporting extension of the tax cuts, but frankly in my eyes that is exactly the wrong position to take. I hope that she doesn't keep going down the Republican rabbit hole this fall in her bid to win. We don't need another blue dog in the Senate.
