Jamar Pinkney Sr. sentenced to 35-80 years in prison (2nd Degree Murder)
>>Detroit, Michigan - In Michigan v. Jamar Pinkney Sr., Judge Brian Sullivan went above and beyond the guidelines for a second-degree murder verdict. Jamar Pinkney Sr. was sentenced to 35-80 years in prison for the second-degree murder charge, preceded by two years on the felony firearm charge. For each of the assault charges, he was given two to four years, served concurrently. Pinkney shot his son Jamar Jr. execution-style after his son told him he raped his three-year-old half-sister.

The defendant’s “score” (a points-based equation that takes into consideration criminal history and other factors) set the sentencing guideline for second-degree murder at 17 3/4 -30 years.<<
