Excellent slap down on Dr. Laura on NPR this morning

Commentator pointed out the Dr. Laura was confusing 'freedom of speech' with 'can dish it out but can't take it'.

No one's limiting her freedom of speech. She just wants to spew racist, sexist, homophobic crap on the radio all day
and experience no criticism.

It was also right about how so many of the freepers accuse others of going into the victim mode and then play the same card themselves. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I went to LARadio.com and marveled at the posts there responding to her story, and yes, her whining. It was actually encouraging. She's reigned here in this market forever, ad nauseam. She went from being a helpful, hopeful fill-in for Dr. Toni Grant on the ABC AM station to the heartless judgmental monster she became. But the comments have been overwhelmingly negative. Seems more than a few here in L.A. also disliked the dear darling heartless judgmental monster she became. My own post got seven thumbs up!

Poor dear doesn't want to be criticized - while she's busy criticizing others (and collecting an awfully nice paycheck for doing so).

that would be "paid speech"...Which she's been getting til now.

She can go "door to door" with her bigotry, or shout it out in a mall parking lot all she wants...She's not "entitled" to be paid for it.

The media seems to be missing the fact that Dr. Laura told a woman that she shouldn't marry who she wants to marry.

Then she got soooooo sexist, I had to turn her off. Everything was the fault of the woman. Stuff about "closing your legs" and staying home with the 'munchkin'. Women would call in to talk about a co-worker problem and Dr. Laura would hone in on the fact that caller was a working mother, and attack her over it! Again and again. it was attack women because they don't make the choices she makes.

And when she become orthodox for a hot minute, everyone was supposed to get religious.

Seems like the first amendment is working pretty well actually. The sad part is that idiots like Palin and Schlessinger cannot see beyond their self interests. They love to play the victim.
