WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President George W. Bush said Sunday he is confident the nation will rebound from the week's terrorist attacks, and he urged Americans to go back to work on Monday knowing that their government is determined to "rid the world of the evil-doers."

"Tomorrow, when you get back to work, work hard like you always have. But we've been warned. We've been warned there are evil people in this world. We've been warned so vividly," Bush said. "And we'll be alert. Your government is alert. The governors and mayors are alert that evil folks still lurk out there. As I said yesterday, people have declared war on America and they have made a terrible mistake."

Bush made the same point during his remarks at the White House. "This crusade, this war on terrorism is gonna take awhile. And the American people must be patient. I'm gonna be patient," Bush said.

that their government is determined to "rid the world of the evil-doers."

As defined by what they think is good and evil, and their own biases and usually some part of their own attributes.

I think vengeance belongs elsewhere, since I think the only way people can can do that is by love, not adding more evil into the mix by "ridding the world" of something a person says is evil by edict.

Although he is correct, Bush needs caring love also, everyone does. He is a patient like everyone else.

Although loving someone is not the same as excusing everything they do, that would be love without learning. So expressing views on things, without hate, although difficult sometimes, can be done while loving the individual, and trying to both learn and teach about the concepts involved in the things done.

I think of it as, they messed up, but it is not their fault, they don't know any better. Hence need for love and education.

2. If getting rid of evil doers was the plan
How are Bush and Cheney not in prison.

3. Does a prison complex in some state get rid of an evil doer?

It removes them from the population based on best decisions of society systems of justice. So they can not hurt people. That is a societal role.

I should say, my comment is not meant to single out Bush as worse or better. Looking at it it could be seen that way. Anytime someone hurts another person, for example my earlier post, they are doing the same thing as him. And everyone does those things at some time, and he also had some good motives in his actions.

I should not have made that context while talking about any individual person, since it applies to all people when they do things that are not the best.

Although society should decide on how it wants to handle different types of right and wrong done.

4. Presumably, Bush had some virtues.
Patience wasn't one of them.
