A Labor Union’s Analysis of China
In today's NYTimes:

http://green.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/09/a-labor-unions-analysis-of-china/#preview

United Steelworkers have signed a deal with China to assure there's a local content component to wind farms being built in Texas.

"For one thing, he said, China has more money than it can invest at home. And the United States has good wind and a good electricity market. They believe they can make some money in the U.S. market, he said. These are Communist capitalists."

Isn't this rich? America is so cash poor, we're shuttering our schools, yet China has more money than it can invest at home. Our own politicians refuse to invest in our own infrastructure, so China steps in.

I think it's great for Texas. It's wonderful that some jobs will be created and renewable energy generated.

But what a loss.
