Just ask one George McMurrain, who found that out the hard way

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A St. Johns County man was arrested after police said he called 911 to ask for a ride to the liquor store.

Police said 57-year-old George McMurrain had already called 911 twice Saturday night when he called to ask for a ride to buy alcohol.

That's when an officer went to the Budget Inn on Anastasia Boulevard to arrest McMurrain.

My idea is that the next time some one calls 911 to request a date the police send the person to pick up this guy and give him a ride to the liquor store.

1. obviously not a clear-thinking individual
or he would have asked them to just swing by the liquor store, and bring him some booze.

2. Pretty silly story, some people can't handle their alchol it seems.

Another good reason to walk to the bar.

:)

Side note: those who know that and do not drink are probably even wiser then those who can handle alcohol.

Side Side Note, From observation and experience, if I called 911 for beer, I think I would probably get it, although I don't think that is what 911 is for either. Although in metaphor beer is a comment on living life how you choose, and being around people.

3. In a similar vein: If you should ever find yourself in court for attacking your girfriend

It is NOT a good idea to attack your girlfriend!

5. That's sad
Am thinking so off in alcoholism that calling 911 was asking for help to get the drink.

Then again, people call 911 like it's a service to serve them rather than save them.

Am having mixed responses to this strange little story...obviously :eyes:
