Conservatives are censoring the website Digg
summary is basically that conservative Digg members have created a yahoo group by which they meet and in an organized fashion attempt to "bury" any news or views which might support Progressive ideas and people. They have the power to bury any story they want within a few hours. Considering how many use Digg to get their news, this IS a big deal. These asshats literally call themselves Patriots while they work to censor the thoughts and feelings of their fellow Americans.

here is the link with more details.

2. Many Germans thought they were patriots too in WWII. Two words always
cause me concern... "Patriots" and anything with "Values" included.

6. "In what sense, Charlie?" :)
Who was it who said that the three scariest words in the English language are: "President Sarah Palin"?

10. More info from a once-avid digg user.
These people:

1. MrBabyman
2. Noupsell
3. Badwithcomputer
4. MSaleem
5. VTbarerra
6. Jaybol
7. irfanmp
8. Bukowsky
9. 1KrazyKorean
10. d2002
11. kplo
12. bixby1
13. nahsrocketeer75

They know what is and has been going on and this isn't the first time that "gangs" have gone after them. However, they also have spread their info farther out and it's not purely concentrated on Digg any longer. Digg is not what it was when it first began, or what it was five years ago. Digg's time has pretty much eclipsed and the main users I listed have ridden the tide on to other things. But they're not stupid...they know what they're doing and every one I listed above has always posted very pro-liberal, progressive articles. There are probably three times the number which I listed above who've left Digg for Reddit, Twitter, or to begin their own aggregates. I don't use Digg any longer because of issues like this but when I did was quite successful at it.

11. Sure does...
and shit like this has been going on for some time at Digg. It's either political or personal. Much of it was directed at MrBabyMan because people were jealous of his top submission rankings and following, accusing him of stealing and burying other people's stuff. He's just not like that...he doesn't submit anywhere near what he used to five years ago.

These people are cool and gather evidence before making the pounce to uncover them, too.

12. This group is comprised of creationists tea baggers
these are the news sites they have tried to keep others from reading:

Salon, News Junkie Post, Talking Points Memo, FreakOutNation, Five Thirty Eight, ThePublicRecord, Rawstory, The Nation, Media Matters for America, PoliticusUSA, Alternet, Fire Dog Lake, Political Carnival, TruthOut, DailyKos, The Joshua Blog, The Brad Blog, Huffington Post, Science Blogs, Smirking Chimp, Down With Tyranny, Crooks and Liars, MarioPiperni, Buzzflash, Bob Cesca’s REALLY AWESOME Blog, and The New York Times.

--that's a great article at alternet. One of their mandates is to protect "Fox News" according to emails.

They are also heavily represented by Free Republic.

13. I think that the leaders are paid college interns
by some GOP PACS and they in turn recruit younger folks who do this just for fun. I know that during the last election period they had paid folks who were deliberately flooding Twitter with all kinds of false crap about certain Dem candidates. Honestly I don't think that the typical freeper is smart enough or fast enough to keep up w/this new gen of people who are poisoning the well, so to speak.

17. Pretty much.
Funny, I just signed in to my old account since it's easier to read digg w/certain settings. It was not surprising at all who was on what side, still.

What is also funny is they think they are somehow harming or influencing liberal news and that couldn't be further from the truth.

15. The irony of this being posted on DU
Is pretty thick. I do agree that it is wrong when certain groups of people try and burry and censor, to a degree, what other people are saying, just because those viewpoints are not always in agreement with certain popular "cliques".
