I feel bad for Giuliani's kid.
Edited on Thu Aug-05-10 01:53 PM by Renew Deal

She has not had an easy life. Her home situation with her mom vs. her dad is horrible. Her dad was openly cheating on her mom when he was mayor. She must be in a pretty bad place in life to do this now, though I doubt it's the first time.

I haven't seen her in a while, but she looks just like her mother (Donna Hanover).

1. Google "bad parenting" and you'll get Rudy's mug...
...yeah, he really screwed over both of his kids.

Sounds like she's had a difficult life... emotionally speaking.

And shoplifting junk for 100 dollars when you live on East 86th Street and attend Harvard?

That's a cry for help.

6. lucky she is his daughter
another kid caught doing the same thing would go into a national retail theft database that employers credit companies and landlords use to see if a person is trustworthy. I am a Loss Prevention Officer and I am against the database this is a perfect opportunity to raise awareness concerning it. A person does not have to be convicted to go in the database check bouncer can get their name in there too, if you have made too many returns and LP decides you are doing it fraudulently your name can also be in the database.

7. No, I think it's shoplifting $100 worth of cosmetics because you think you'll
get away with it.

This is the equivalent of an average teenager pocketing some Cover Girl mascara at the local drugstore.

4. I lean towards feeling sorry for her also. When you have enough
money to buy just about anything you want, and you steal it, you need help. I feel just as badly for someone who has absolutely nothing and has to steal to survive. The haves and the have nots; we all have to make choices.

5. I don't feel sorry for her
She stole and got caught. She doesn't have to. A cry for help. Boo hoo. Now put the bracelets on her ass and take her to the lockup with the rest of the city's criminal elite.

pocketing some Cheetos at the 7/11 would be.

24. During her father's reign of terror, the homeless didn't even
have to steal anything to land in jail. They just had to try to find a place to sleep when he sent out his police thugs to throw them jail for 'loitering'. He wanted the streets cleaned up for his wealthy friends who didn't like having to step over the homeless, many of whom were something he never was, veterans.

Not knowing how his daughter feels about her father's policies, I can't say much about her, but it's no surprise than any child raised even in part by that psychopath would have problems, which she appears to have.

She needs help, not jail. But so did the homeless. Still, she is not responsible for her father's evil actions. I hope she gets help.

11. I feel sorry for most kids of divorced parents.
Unfortunatly, many parents out there get to a point where their kids are no longer their priority for whatever reason. Add to it a divorce with multiple step-parents and stuff involved. I feel sorry for her too and hope she can find some peace somewhere in her home life so she doesn't feel like she has to act out.

...but I'm supposed to feel sorry for some twit born with everything when she gets lonely because her crass daddy won't return her emails?

If Giuliani was prosecutor what do you think? Would he show mercy if it was YOUR CHILD?

Reminds me of the courtroom seen in Tale of Two Cities.

Folks it was her *father* who was the neo-fascist, corrupt, GOP, rw mayor.

Not the child.

Are you serious? Look at my fucking journal, there's a big picture of a white boy there. But then, I guess I could have planned it all along, setting a trap for you 3 years ago so I could spring it now.

I'm a white boy that actually grew up in a very diverse community, so I see all sides of things.

And I see no reason at all to feel sorry for a little rich white girl that will have everything money can buy.

27. I don't.
I've got a list that is pages long of people who are more deserving of my empathy. If she's been traumatized by the events of her childhood, she should seek help. She certainly can afford it. Many others in need of mental health care aren't so fortunate.

Rich, a child of privilege, shoplifting not necessities, no, but rather make up. There are lots of us who were raised in homes that were equally as horrible, in fact much worse, but we don't break laws.

Poor thing, being treated like a regular criminal instead of the child of privilege she is, poor girl:eyes:

Sorry, but I don't have any sympathy for her whatsoever.

I do agree with you, however, that she does look quite a bit like her mother. Good for her that she didn't end up looking like Rudy!
