2.  Stewart is a national treasure
I hope he has bodyguards and is careful about riding in small airplanes.... and no, I'm not trying to be funny...There is no greater threat to the ruling class than being exposed for the craven hypocrites they are, than by being made the object of satire and mocking, which Stewart does so brilliantly, and this was one of his best.

12. +1 Someone posted a toon the other day of Obama cringing in front of the Glen Beck show.
My immediate thought was the the cartoonist got it wrong; it's The Daily Show that cuts to the bone.

3. Really? Exempting firearms from bankruptcy proceedings?
Did I hear that right last night? Our glorious governing body really passed that?

Leave it to TDS to come up with that one.

36. So, let me see if I've got this straight... we can't figure out how to let people keep their homes
but we can figure out how to let them keep their guns?!

:wtf:

4. Stewart and his staff are so GOOD! They hit this right on the nose!!
It is totally disheartening and leaves one speechless to see how Congress works!!

Calling them up and telling them what we REALLY think might just be the best answer...and then voting them out of office to be replaced by more progressive congresscritters.

8. So, what do you think about the bill and the 2/3 majority vote?
is THAT a laughing matter? Just what ARE your priorities? Do you have any concept of what lingering health disabilities the 9/11 responders are living with??

10. I do have opinions on those subjects
And care not whether any pundits or comedians agree or whether they give up. I believe I can develop my opinions on these matters without the assistance of comedian Stewart.

30. Jon Stewart is not a truth teller.
Code Pink are truth tellers. They speak truth to power in the HALLS OF POWER.

Jon Stewart does not speak truth to power. Jon Stewart tells jokes to an adoring and gushing audience that laughs hysterically (and kind of insanely in my opinion) at his very look at the camera. It's kind of pathetic to watch actually.

I watch the show frequently, but not every night. So we miss a lot, but of the shows and segments I've seen I'd have to say that was the best.

So they get screwed over too.

I'm a Democrat but I don't see either fucking party doing jack shit. They let the heroes down this time.

26. Yes, but that would be admitting that the area around the trade centers was
NOT ok to work in when the EPA said the air quality was ok. Also, unless you really follow issues and/ or live in the region, most wouldn't even realize that the reponders are sick because of the sign off to work in dangerous air quality conditions that have created long lasting health problems.. that which at first were issues govt tried to hide.

Its kind of like hearing that all the oil is gone, nothing to report here, move along.. and people will have to litterally use their own time, money (they lack), and resources to prove that BP and the govt were lying about the health effects for short and long term.

25. Honestly, that's the real aspect I'm getting from even FL...
Republican's are assholes who won't do a damn thing but hold shit hostage or vote no.. AND the Obama and the Dem's are weak, ineffective assholes....

People want leadership. Even if it is wrong, at least they will respect you for trying to do the right thing. Keep ramming stuff with over the top lung capacity with Pres. Obama at the bully pulpit mocking those in the way to get out of the way or go home. How hard is this to figure out why people are not happy with anything any of them are doing.

34. I don't get his logic on this one.
Democrats are "p*ssys" for putting up a bill that should have had bipartisan support and getting the Republicans on the record voting no?

37. No, because they opted for a process which precluded amendments
because getting a bill passed was a secondary consideration to the goal you noted above.

38. I don't think it was secondary. I think it was a given that Republicans
should have supported this bill. The fact that Republicans voted no and we're discussing Democrats is ridiculous.
