••• How many Republicans would you buy a used car from? •••
In 1960 Kennedy ran an ad showing the face of Richard Nixon, asking, "Would you buy a used car from this man?"

(Wish I could find that ad on YouTube...)

Abraham Lincoln once turned a man down for a job because he didn't like his face.

When asked how he could do that, he replied, "I think a man is responsible for his face after forty."

So here's an idea. Let's find out which Republicans we really WOULD buy a used car from.

Post videos below of Republicans with faces that are .... trustworthy. Faces you would, ehem, buy a used car from.

Here's one:

http://c-span.com/Watch/Media/2010/08/01/HP/R/36283/Rep+McCarthy+Optimistic+about+Republicans+Taking+Majority+in+the+House.aspx

Now DON'T CALL him slimy! That's a trustworthy used car salesman right there!

Let's make this a contest. Let's see who the best Republican used car salesman is.

Post away.

They look so trustworthy!!!!!!!!

1. I suspect that most car salesmen are Republican
And if I ever buy a car, the political affiliation of the seller won't concern me at all.

14. One car dealership I used to go to had GOP bumperstickers all over the place.
Needless to say, they went out of business several years ago.

3. I can't afford the gas on a big suv and since they don't invest in maintenance I can't handle
a ticking time bomb.

Don't buy cars from people who don't believe in keeping up roads and bridges.

4. Well, we've had to pay an awful lot for a used *country*...
It was driven off a cliff by Republicans, and we're still paying for it. The CountryFax report shows a helluva lot of mileage and hidden damage. I wonder if we'll ever own it again outright -- and get it repaired -- without that heavy lien still against it?

:o

9. And the replugs are trying to repossess the country after giving us a lemon.
They want to sell it to us twice...

There was a used car lot down the street from my Dad's service station. They did everything to trick their customers. Since my Dad's gas station was the closest to them they would drive the cars they were selling to our station to get them filled with gas. That was when service stations checked your oil, washed your windows and inflated your tires. I noticed one thing about half of the cars they brought in. When I checked their oil there would be sawdust mixed in with it. They put it in the oil to temporarily slow oil leaks and reduce the amount of burning oil coming from the tailpipe.

Used car dealers will use every trick to sell unsuspecting buyers a piece of crap. But we all know this con game isn't played by just used car salesmen. It's used in politics too. We are victimized by 'bait and switch' tactics all the time in politics, when a candidate says one thing and does another.

I just wish politicians were subjected to the same consumer protection laws we have when we buy a product. At least if we get screwed when we buy a car or a refrigerator we can file complaints to the BBB, Federal Trade Commission and Attorney General's offices. If we're lucky we can get our money back. But we have zero guarantees when it comes to politics.

I'd like to see new laws that mandate prison sentences to ANY politician who fails to deliver on promises they make during their campaigns. But that would mean we would have to build ten times the number of prisons we now have. But it would help with the unemployment problem! Eventually, all the citizens would be outside of prisons while all the politicians would be inside.
