NO WAY can Sarah twist this around and shine it up for the voting public. I was positive that she was going to run in 2012, but if even a fraction of these rumors turn out to be true, she would be lucky to even get onstage once with Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Mike Huckabee before being laughed off and forced to hightail it back to the relative safety of her house on Lake Lucille. Which means that even though Sarah spent a small fortune trying desperately to cover her tracks in Wasilla so nothing unseemly could derail her political ambitions, it will be yet ANOTHER baby that ends up putting the final nail in her political coffin.

Teenagers are total flakes. It takes very good parenting skills to give them what they need to navigate those years without making a total mess of things. Obviously, neither of them got that kind of parenting and it should come as no surprise there are unwanted and unplanned babies popping out all over the place.

Decent sex education in schools can compensate for piss poor parenting at least in part, and to kids who think enough of themselves to be receptive to it. Studies have proven that over and over again.

Still, the fundies gain control and every time they do, this is what we can expect for kids who were raised in ignorance and without the right type of attention.

I see nothing in this mess but prolonged sadness for everyone.

There was an interview with Ben Barber published recently. Supposedly he and Bristol broke up 2 months ago at the time of the interview, which came out soon after Bristol and Levi announced they were getting married (after getting back together for six weeks). After the announcement of her engagement, Ben Barber said he text Bristol and asked her if she were pregnant again, to which she responded "no." A curious question to be asking a girl who is advocating abstinence.
