what is that crap. generally happens when something happens to computer. nothing happened to computer. went into a youtube that a LOUNGE poster had up, and boom, .... all my read posts disappeared.

i am going to keep my eye on that dude.

did it happen to anyone else?

13. Malware. Was there a popup on that video?

Even if not, what's likely is that a popup application sent your browser to a site in a background browser window it opened and read your browser history, then wiped the history so you couldn't see the place your browser went in that background window.

So, if that's the case, some database has stored your browser history and associated it with your Youtube account. You'll probably get advertising that relates to whatever was in your history.

It's something you can do manually. For example, if you're using Firefox, it's one of the options in the Tools menu.

The history is the list of URLs you've visited. That's how the browser knows to show links you've already visited in a different color from ones you've never clicked on.

Another possibility is that the setting that tells the browser to show those links in a different color was changed, so that now your browser shows all links in the same color, regardless of whether you've been to them or not. But it seems much more likely to me that your browser's history was cleared.

screwed up your browser settings. There is some malware in youtube popups. It's been mentioned in the media.

I imagine that's the issue. Close and reopen your browser, then read some threads and see if they show as read. If not, check your browser settings. They may have been changed by a malware application, probably to hide places the malware sent your browser without you knowing about it.

Sometimes a browser can just hiccup and lose it's history. I like it when I am doung research and have multiple windows open and the browser freezes. Good times.
