Geithner can cheat on his taxes and be confirmed as
Secretary of Treasury, but Rangle is supposed to resign? Every damn Bush crime is given a pass too. Fuck this, I'm just so tired of this elitist selection of who gets to break the law.

Yeah, Rangle should have paid his taxes, but he really thought he was one of the ones who the law doesn't apply to, he should have realized.

1. Laws, like rules, seem to be unevenly applied in many places
Timmy needs to go.

10. A moment of reflection - please?
Geithner is where he is because he knows where the bodies are buried, how to get the car started,
and how the thingymabob works. He serves a useful purpose and should not be discounted.

I honestly believe John McCain did not intend to fail to pay the taxes on one of his seven houses.

I'm not sure anyone really understands that if your employer provides you a car, you owe taxes on the 'gift'; All over the US, every morning, lackys in offices up and down the coast, and across the country, are sent out to the airport to pick up so and so, and I'm not sure anyone getting the free rides are paying tax on it.

I don't think Rangle prepares his own tax reports - its prolly someone that has been doing it a certain way for many years, someone who interprets a code one way, while someone else might interpret it another... none of us know yet what the ethics committee has found.

I do want us all to remember that several of the republican - and a few democrat congress members stay
rent free/tax free in a building that is declared as a 'church', and before Charlie Rangle serves time, or resigns, or is prosecuted, we're going to have their heads too.

Fair is fair.

2. A crook is a crook is a crook
If Rangel cheated, he is a crook. I don't like crooks. I feel they should be dealt the full extent of the law. That's what they are for. We are having a hard enough time of it without some of these uppity democrats tearing us down. We should scrutinize the entire party and cleanse it of cheaters and crooks.

I said "if", because I don't know if Rangel is guilty of anything. I am not a judge and have very limited knowledge of the case against him. But, "if" he has broken the law, he should resign and face charges like any other American. We can't say shit about the crimes the Bush administration committed if we allow our own to break the law, and I want "all" the Bush criminals prosecuted, too!

6. Our admin. doesn't say shit
about bush crimes anyway. What we have here is selective prosecution. Here we have public presumption of guilt before the case is tried. In the bush/cheney case there will not be a trial. If guilty, then suffer the penalties. But our administration is dead set against even discussing the blatant and murderous crimes of bush/cheney. Why? Because they are more important? Because they are richer? Because they are white?

12. Yes.
Let's be consistent either way. My preference would be toward enforcement, but if some people are allowed to walk, then everyone should.

8. Both are a scourge on the Democratic party but Geithner is Obama's crook which is why he gets a free
pass.

9. Rangle must have done something the corporates don't like. Geithner, however, is connected. nt

11. Both are dead weight at this point but Timmeh is crooked as most Hatch/Hunt type pukes
Rangel has done a lot of good and served this country for decades and even in uniform but it's probably time he contribute in a less official fashion or enjoys his golden years with family and friends.

If I was to pick one to keep band cover for then it would be Rangel by the length of the Universe but he's probably run his effective course.

Maybe its all just a fart in the breeze for Rangle and a lot has been made of nothing and his district will want him in Washington but it seems something is actually there and it must be dealt with by at least taking his chair if there is much substance here.
